Mobile vocal booth
The t.akustik Vocal Head Booth is a portable vocal booth designed to surround the head of a singer or speaker, helping to minimise acoustic issues caused by untreated recording environments. Its carefully considered construction combines 40mm PET polyester with an MDF base plate to reduce unwanted reflections and ensure that significant resonances are kept to a minimum inside the booth. The materials and design also provide effective isolation from external noise, helping to reduce unwanted sounds such as traffic or the hum of a fan during recording.
Straightforward installation
The t.akustik Vocal Head Booth is supplied fully assembled and can be mounted on a 35mm speaker stand (not included) using the integrated adapter. A bracket that can be adjusted for height and depth allows the microphone to be positioned with or without a shock mount, while an aluminium rod near the base plate provides a convenient attachment point for a pop filter. A dedicated hook is also included for hanging headphones, and a small magnetic holder can be used to keep printed texts or sheet music within easy reach. For additional visibility inside the booth, a supplied LED light provides suitable illumination, while a tablet can alternatively be placed against the rear panel, with a suitable footswitch offering a convenient way to turn pages when required.
Dry recordings anywhere
With its convenient and carefully considered design, the t.akustik Vocal Head Booth is suited to users who want to achieve dry vocal and speech recordings without having to make extensive acoustic modifications to their recording environment. It can be particularly useful in rooms that serve other purposes or in homes with thin walls, providing a straightforward way to reduce unwanted reflections while also limiting sound transmission to and from the surrounding space. The booth can also be taken to different recording locations, helping to maintain a more consistent sound across changing environments. However, as it is not designed to be dismantled, its relatively large size should be taken into account when transporting it. For mobile use, this means allowing sufficient space for both the booth itself and the equipment required to position it securely.
About t.akustik
t.akustik has been part of the Thomann portfolio since 1997 and has established a solid reputation through its quality products at affordable prices. The brand specialises in all items that optimise the acoustics of recording studios, or any room in which music is to be recorded, by neutralising possible interferences as much as possible. So, if you need absorbers, sound diffusers, bass traps, and much more, t.akustik's extensive range is definitely worth checking out.
Sliding rear wall
The t.akustik Vocal Head Booth provides a more comprehensive alternative to a simple microphone screen positioned behind the microphone, helping to minimise reflections from all directions. Depending on the desired degree of sound isolation, the rear panel can be raised or removed completely, creating a more open acoustic environment while also improving air circulation, which can be particularly beneficial during longer recording sessions. The flexible positioning of the microphone mount also makes it possible to maintain a certain distance from the microphone even when the rear panel is closed. This allows targeted use of the proximity effect, giving users greater control over the character of the recorded voice. Overall, the adjustable design provides a useful balance between acoustic isolation, ventilation, and microphone positioning.
