Next Level

Reaching the next level of content creation with less gear isn't just a workflow perk – it's now effortlessly achievable thanks to the Shure MV7i. This dynamic USB-C microphone effectively expands any audio setup by allowing two-channel recording, while simplifying the process thanks to a built-in audio interface. Right from the outset, the MV7i – complete with accessories and software – proves itself a reliable, all-in-one solution for clean, consistent, and professional-quality recordings. With minimal effort for setup and cabling, it delivers high-resolution broadcast sound. Even better, no separate audio interface is needed. Auto Level mode with SmartGate technology automatically adjusts gain depending on mic distance, voice level, and room acoustics.

Packed with innovative features

The Shure MV7i continuously adapts the microphone's gain to the audio source's proximity, the dynamics, and the acoustic environment. The SmartGate function is active by default, automatically lowering gain on unused channels to prevent crosstalk. A combo XLR/¼-inch input is also onboard, enabling connection of either a second microphone or an instrument – all handled via the built-in audio interface. With 48V phantom power, the input supports most dynamic and condenser mics. A range of advanced DSP features is also available, which can be applied not only to the MV7i itself, but also to any external mic connected via XLR. Users can select subtle room effects, reduce plosives, and clean up unwanted background noise with minimal post-processing.

Practical and efficient

The Shure MV7i features a colour-adjustable LED touch panel with 36-bit resolution, which can be customised and configured using the MOTIV Mix app. The display works in split or combined mode, offering flexible visual feedback. Equally convenient is the real-time monitoring via the built-in 3.5mm headphone jack – latency-free for both the MV7i and the secondary input. Audio is monitored exactly as it is being recorded. Another key workflow feature: Each channel can be muted instantly via touch, with a red animation confirming mute status. The mute function is completely silent, with no clicks or pops – ensuring that recording sessions remain uninterrupted.

About Shure

The American company Shure began developing microphones during the early 1930s and is one of the pioneers of the audio engineering sector. Models such as the 55 Unidyne – known to many as the "Elvis microphone" – and the SM57 and SM58 which appeared in the mid-1960s are still ubiquitous in live sound production today. They enjoy cult status among musicians and technicians alike. In the 1990s, Shure introduced the first wireless microphones and in-ear monitoring systems and became a market leader in this field. In addition to microphones, Shure offers a wide range of earphones and headphones for studio and live use, as well as various accessories.

Broad compatibility

The Shure MV7i connects to computers, tablets, and smartphones via USB-C, and supports both macOS and Windows, as well as selected Apple and Android mobile devices (with USB-C ports). It's also MFi-certified for iPhone and iPad, ensuring smooth integration across platforms. Full control of the MV7i's sound signature and dual-channel mix is handled via the MOTIV Mix and MOTIV mobile apps. These allow creators to adjust DSP features using any connected device, including mixdown options such as stereo, mono, or multi-track with two separate mono files – all designed to suit different workflows and use cases.
