Stability in small spaces
The Shure Desktop Stand is a compact, weighted desktop microphone stand designed for podcast, broadcast, streaming, and home studio setups where a floor stand would be impractical. Manufactured by Gator for Shure under licence, its weighted 6" (152mm) round base provides a stable, non-slip platform with a vibration-damping rubber gasket that reduces low-frequency vibrations transmitted through the desktop. An ergonomic twist clutch adjusts the height between 254mm and 381mm (10-15"), while the stand is sturdy enough to accommodate larger broadcast microphones such as Shure’s SM7dB or MV7+. A supplied 3/8"–5/8" thread adapter ensures compatibility with both European and US microphone mounting standards.

Adjustable and dependable
The Shure Desktop Stand’s weighted base provides a stable platform that can be easily repositioned around the workspace. The rubber gasket protects the supporting surface while helping to dampen mechanical vibrations transmitted through it. Height adjustment is quick thanks to the simple locking clutch, which secures the stand at the desired height for podcasts, livestreams, interviews, or voice-over work. With a suitable microphone clip or yoke mount, it can support full-size broadcast microphones and compact condensers for interviews, conference recording, or round-table podcast discussions – although the best stability is achieved when heavier microphones remain centred over the base and cable tension is kept to a minimum. When it's time to pack up, the threaded shaft unscrews from the base, allowing the stand to be dismantled in seconds for transport or storage.

About Shure
The American company Shure began developing microphones during the early 1930s and is one of the pioneers of the audio engineering sector. Models such as the 55 Unidyne – known to many as the "Elvis microphone" – and the SM57 and SM58 which appeared in the mid-1960s are still ubiquitous in live sound production today.
