The complete package with power to spare

The Mooer GE1000Li multi-effects pedal offers the exact same features as the GE1000, such as numerous effects and a wide range of amp, preamp, and speaker cabinet simulations using MNRS files, but also comes with a rechargeable lithium-ion battery that provides an operating time of up to six hours for extended periods of worry-free live gigging. Inside its compact housing, the GE1000Li accommodates everything a guitarist needs in the rehearsal room, on stage, or in the studio: Tuner, balanced XLR outputs, MIDI I/O, FX loop, ground lift switch, audio interface, expression pedal, drum machine, looper, and five robust backlit footswitches. Optimum usability is ensured by a 5" colour touch screen that allows even complex multi-effects chains to be easily modified via drag and drop using only one finger alongside 17 buttons and two control knobs that provide direct access to various editing functions. And the good news is: All of this comes at the price of just two boutique pedals.

All in one – plus a few extras

The Mooer GE1000Li allows an entire conventional electric guitar setup to be modelled without making compromises on sound quality or usability. All users have to do is store the desired elements in one of the 14 slots via drag and drop in Edit mode, e.g. a boost pedal first, a smooth overdrive second, a light chorus third, followed by an amp model and a cab sim, optionally include further effects in different positions in the effects chain, subsequently adjust the resulting signal using an AI-driven master EQ, and finally store the complete setup in one of the 255 preset slots. The Mooer GE1000Li offers sufficient CPU power for computing an amp, a cab sim, and approximately twelve FX pedals without creating annoying background noise, which usually occurs with long analogue signal chains and poor-quality mains adapters on the pedal board.

The one that has it all

Its high versatility, intuitive operation, and excellent sound quality make the Mooer GE1000Li particularly interesting for advanced beginners and experienced guitarists alike. Beginners will benefit from its user-friendly, intuitive design and the possibility of exploring and learning how to use all the relevant guitar effects without spending a fortune, while experienced guitarists will be able to intuitively recreate their "old" analogue setup in next to no time. Mooer's MNRS impulse response (IR) sample files with a resolution of 2048 sample points even allow users to integrate their own amp and favourite speaker cab into the signal chain with astonishing authenticity and in excellent quality. What is more, the built-in expression pedal can be flexibly assigned different functions to directly control dynamic effects such as wah or rotary speakers.

About Mooer

Mooer is based in the Chinese city of Shenzhen and has been making products for guitarists since 2010, which include compact single pedals through to multi-effects units and compact amplifiers. The company initially produced a range of mini pedals before making perhaps its most significant breakthrough in 2016 with the sophisticated Ocean Machine delay pedal, which was designed in collaboration with Devin Townsend. Mooer's product range now also includes solutions that feature amp modelling, IR-based speaker simulation, and matching equalisers, and the company's focus remains firmly on the use of digital technology.

Effects galore without compromise

The numerous features of the Mooer GE1000Li make it eminently suitable for a wide range of applications. This versatile multi-effects pedal offers all the necessary functions for just about every scenario (with the only exception being recording sessions in a professional studio): A ground lift switch that will come in useful in the rehearsal room and on stage, balanced XLR outputs and an integrated low-latency USB audio interface for recordings in the home studio, a convenient headphone output for practice sessions at home, and innovative MNRS technology for integrating one's beloved analogue pedals into the effects chain. In a nutshell, the Mooer GE1000Li allows an entire chain comprising pedalboard, tuner, footswitch, amp, speaker cab, and drum machine/looper to be modelled and directly controlled without making compromises in comfort, sound quality, or the price-performance ratio.

Before I purchased it, I red and saw all (few) reviews available and only believed that those positive ones are describing reality in an unbiased way. I also had a doubt about the esthetics of the colored pedal that seem to me kinda ugly. Now I am so happy I have it! I used to have many modellers (Helix, Mooer GE 250, 300, Valeton, Hotone Ampero Stomp II, multiple BOSS modellers, you name it) but this one became my candy from the very moment I linked it to the BT midi and audio. Battery rules - I can take it to my bed, sofa, not be bothered by mains availability. AI EQ rules too. Profiles and IRs loading is improving the vast sound possibilities, synced looper with 8 minutes stereo capacity, unusually good drum sounds, easy operation and pedal multiple assignments, BT audio - and after all - it's got the look (even the pedal). Not tried USB recording yet. The sounds are equal to those of Hotone Ampero Stomp II.
I admit that some FX (extreme delays, reverbs) may seem weird but if used reasonably, they may have their right to exist. Presets are also surprisingly not over the top and usable as they are (maybe Choptones work). Though I know myself and every gadget is replaced after some time when a new contestant appears on the market but I do believe this one is keeper.
I use external FS 4 pedal as the looper controller and it works really fine.
