Strong enough to take a handheld microphone
phaenon 08.08.2020
I have three of these. Main applications: 1) external webcam stand, you can adjust the webcam perfectly at a given angle; 2) a mic stand to place on my desktop, I use a dynamic handheld mic for video conference calls and this little Manfrotto stand carries the mic. I used three of these to put wireless handheld mics on desks for speakers. If you balance the mic correctly (ball head angle), it will not tip and fall. 3) Third application, you can use a smartphone holder frame and thus achieve any convenient angle for object photography. For microphones, you will need a thread adapter! Manfrotto has a set of four thread adapters or you can use those by any other brand.
It's not originally designed for heavy handheld mics though, but it can be used for this application as well.
It's portable when you collapse the three legs. The black base around the thread is attached permanently and offers a good grip. With legs collapsed, this can be used to hold your phone or small camera as you vlog while walking etc.

Solid quality and sturdy support but short on features.
DrCheese 17.01.2022
I already have a Manfrotto Pixi Evo so can make some comparisons to it.
Bear in mind, the Pixi Evo is double the price as well as being considerably heavier and larger.
To attach the Mini to a camera , the whole tripod has to be rotated into the camera (it's not practical to loosen the ball head when doing this). In the Evo, the wheel spins freely making attaching much easier.
Height is not adjustable in the Mini, it's fixed at 13cm making ultra-low camera angles difficult. With the Evo, both the splay of the legs and the extension of the legs are adjustable and its minimum height range is 10 - 18.5 cm. Use a bean bag for ultra-low shots!
Adjusting the ball-head involves pushing in a spring-loaded button. This is quite stiff makes fine adjustments to tilt and angle more difficult than on the Evo which uses a tightening screw for fixing or loosening the ball head.
Nonetheless, the Pixi Mini seems to embody the usual Manfrotto quality - good quality thick plastics and metal components where critical - although I haven't dropped this yet to put all this to the test. It is sturdy enough to confidently support a Sony a7III with 24-105 f4 zoom lens. Given the price, it represents good value for money.

Great mini tripod!
Funeral Musician 14.02.2023
This affordable mini tripod is a lot more sturdy than I expected: there is no wobble whatsoever, and the legs do not flop around when they are folded. The tripod is made almost entirely out of plastic (excluding the ball and the feet), but it feels like a high quality plastic, not something that breaks easily. The only two disadvantages are as follows: 1) the head does not spin freely, so either the device has to be screwed onto the tripod, or the whole tripod has to be screwed onto the device; 2) the button is quite hard to press (but it may also be considered an advantage, making the button less likely to be pressed by accident). Other than that, this tripod is great!

Manfrotto - leading the way
Leon Z. 01.10.2020
Much like the Hercules brand when it comes to instrument stands, Manfrotto is making stands for recording/filming gear that set the standard. This unit is light, compact, sturdy and is head and shoulders above other mini stands on the market.
