Joyo Jam Buddy II Black

At the time of writing, this little black (and pink, orange and silver) box of tricks is sold out for Christmas, and I know I'm a very, very lucky boy to have one, so here's a review to whet your appetite while you await their no doubt, soon restocking.
I'm a player of a certain vintage (think early 90s), and if you cut your teeth as a player back in the 80s/ 90s, you'll know just how difficult, and never ending, our quest for half-decent, affordable gear that didn't sound like horrendous vomit-crap. This is where you lucky young whippersnappers have it soooo good these days, in that it truly is a golden age for musicians (and yet, paradoxically the darkest, perhaps?), if I had my hands on this thing back in 92, I tell ya,,,you'd all for sure know my name by now 🤣 🤟.
Joking aside, this *is* a phenomenal piece of gear; the tones man,, my word,, the tones are awesome,,
I mean the size of this thing,, it sounds amazing. Nothing like my formative years here; cue nightmarish teenage memories of trying to squeeze decent sounds from a *Gorilla* practice amp (iykyk, if not, just google em, or ask your uncle Mike 😱).
The integral drum machine is basic, but hey, it works fine, won't steal your girlfriend, and never shows up drunk and/or late for practice!
The effects are really decent, giving you all you'll ever need for practice, even gigging, and if you need more, it takes pedals like a champ. The tones (and overall sound for it's compact size), are for me, what this little gem is all about, there aren't a lot of them available on the unit (14), but what joyo have given you here, are high quality, and extremely versatile tones, that have something for everybody. The Jam Buddy II sounds *great* lined out; and the Bluetooth function works pretty flawlessly as well, I'm just astounded frankly. Everything included in this package and executed this well, would have cost hundreds and hundreds of various monies not all that long ago,, now you can get all this for less than 100!
So, when they do come back in stock don't fight a Gorilla, just get one, you'll be rather pleased you did!

J’espérais beaucoup de ce mini ampli très séduisant sur le papier et dans toutes les vidéos que j’avais vues.
Le form factor est vraiment top. C’est vraiment bien pensé et ergonomique.
La prise en main est rapide et intuitive.
De ce côté là rien à dire.
Pour moi ce qui a péché, c’est le son.
Je m’attendais à mieux. Je sais que dans cette gamme de prix on ne peut pas être trop exigent, mais en 2026 tout le monde sais à peut prêt à quoi ressemble une bonne simulation.
Alors attention je parle du high gain, mon registre étant le métal. Pour le clean je pense que c’est exploitable bien qu’il y ait une latence perceptible lorsqu’on utilise les effets.
En high gain donc, c’est trop juste.
Les basses sont molles et les aigus synthétiques.
Je l’ai testé avec un casque et avec le hp intégré. A priori le son est mieux sur un baffle Frfr plus puissant mais n’est pas ce à quoi est destiné cette ampli.
Les sons on l’air d’être des captures de rig complet avec une techno propriétaire ou des profils NAM convertis. La possibilité de charger ses propres IR aurait probablement aider mais j’imagine que ça ne passait pas dans le budget.
Il faudra attendre l’intégration des profils NAM A2 pour avoir un son de qualité sur ce genre s’unité. Le meilleur reste à venir!
Donc si vous êtes pas trop exigeant sur le son et que vous recherchez un truc pratique, léger et fonctionnel pour bosser dans la chambre ou à l’extérieur, le jam buddy est pour vous.

Gut und günstig muss sich nicht gegenseitig ausschließen, bei dem JamBuddy II ist definitiv beides der Fall!
Solide Verarbeitung, ich war erstaunt wie schwer das kleine Teil ist. Die Potis laufen absolut sauber, auch das Drücken der Potis (um eine weiter Funktion zu aktivieren) funktioniert einwandfrei. Das habe ich bei teureren Geräten schon anders erlebt. Auch die Buchsen sind schön stramm, da wackelt kein Stecker. In die Bedienung muss man sich ein wenig hineindenken aber wenn man es erstmal geschnallt hat lässt es sich ohne Mühe einstellen. Soundmöglichkeiten sind zahlreich vorhanden. Verschiedene Amp-Simulationen, die gut klingen und separat einstellbar sind, sowie einiges an Effekten haben mich absolut überzeugt! Für den Preis wird ne Menge geboten. Was ich nicht verstehe ist, wie aus so kleinen Lautsprechern so viel guter Sound kommen kann. Ohne ungewollte Verzerrungen oder Störgeräusche! Und leise ist das Ding nur wenn man die Potis auf links stellt, bei vollem Rechtsanschlag wird das Gerät richtig bissig laut.
Die Bluetooth-Funktion ist extrem sinnvoll und funktioniert ebenfalls einwandfrei. Playbacks über Smartphone abspielen ist somit kein Problem. Es ist allerdings auch ein LineIn mit Miniklinke möglich.
Über PA habe ich das Gerät ebenfalls ausprobiert, der Bord-Lautsprecher schaltet sich automatisch ab wenn die Ausgangs-Buchse belegt ist, und ich hatte einen absolut sauberen, guten Sound.
Muss dazu sagen, das ich entweder Clean- oder Crunch-Sounds spiele, selten ne moderate Verzerrung. Wie sich das Gerät im High-Gain-Modus verhält, kann ich also nicht sagen.
Fazit: Ich habe vor 50 Jahren angefangen Gitarre zu spielen, hätte ich damals so ein Gerät zur Verfügung gehabt wäre musikalisch einiges anders gelaufen! Die heutige Musiker-Jugend ist wirklich zu beneiden. Ach ja, der JamBuddyII von Joyo..... absolute Kaufempfehlung! Kann man, vor allem bei dem Preis, gar nix falsch machen!
