They are extremely durable, even with heavy playing. Their tone and volume wouldn't compare to any other model or brand, these strings are just really pleasing, loud and make your mandolin sound like a bigger instrument.

Ich habe viele Saiten für mein Instrument probiert und muss sagen: Die D?Addario Longlife sind der beste mir bekannte Kompromiss. Die meisten Saiten mit großartigem Klang verlieren diesen in einer Woche und müssen getauscht werden. Ebenso klingen die meisten Longlife-Saiten einfach nicht warm und lebendig.
D?Addario macht da echt was richtig.

Bonjour,

Ces nouvelles cordes D'addario remplacent les cordes de la gamme EXP, toujours avec "coating" ce qui leur confère une grande longévité.
La combinaison phosphore-bronze procure un son chaud tout en gardant assez de brillance. La mandoline étant un instrument naturellement aigu, ces cordes équilibrent bien cette caractéristique et font bien ressortir le bois de l'instrument.
Le tirant plus gros que la moyenne sur les cordes de E aigu et de A donne plus de corps au son et surtout présente le gros avantage de beaucoup mieux garder l'accordage. Alors qu'avec un jeu de 10-40 il faut régulièrement se raccorder, là le réaccordage est très peu nécessaire. Un bonheur.

Enfin, ces cordes sont très stables dans le temps. Neuf, elles ne sont pas trop brillantes (ce qui est bien) et conservent cette caractéristique pendant plusieurs semaines. Malgré une bonne sudation et un jeu intense, le jeu dure facilement 5 semaines. En revanche, quand il est au bout, le son se dégrade très vite. Je trouve cela aussi bien. Ces cordes restent un peu moins brillantes que des Elixir mais ont un sont plus naturelles.

En tout cas, je recommande ces cordes sur toute mandoline. C'est un très bon choix. Le prix semble justifié au regard de la durée de jeu.

Habe die Saiten auf eine Eastman 305 gezogen, die ich im Wohnzimmergebrauch spiele. Höhen und Brillanz gehen gegenüber den sonst benutzten Daddario EJ74 verloren. Klingt mehr Richtung Gitarre. Das Mandolinige, Holzige im Klang geht verloren. Für Akkordspiel zu Popmusik in Ordnung, für folkige Stücke und Melodiespiel find ich sie nicht so gut.
