Après avoir joué des années sur les J74 bronze, j'ai voulu tester ces cordes pour leur durée de vie plus longue. Effectivement leur durée de vie est très nettement améliorée (au moins 3 fois plus longtemps par rapport au bronze) que ce soit en terme de brillance ou de corrosion. Le son est un peu plus "roots" quoique c'est subtile et sur une mando bas/milieu de gamme ça ne doit pas faire énorme différence, et convient bien au bluegras/old time/trad. Leur couleur peut surprendre car on dirait des cordes de guitares électrique, mais finalement c'est sympa aussi. Pour l'instant c'est adopté.

Nachdem ich schon die verschiedensten D’Addario und GHS Saiten ausprobiert hatte (silk/bronze, nickel/bronze, bronze, phos. bronze) hatte ich den Tipp bekommen, es auch einmal mit dem EJM74 Satz zu versuchen. Ehrlich gesagt, bin ich kein so großer Fan von bronze und phos. bronze auf Mandolinen. sind mir zu harsch und brilliant. Ich mag eher das Gegenteil dazu. Und siehe da, ich war positiv überrascht. Die Saiten bieten mir all das, was mir an den anderen Saiten nicht so gefallen hat. Ob sie zu jeder Mandoline passen, kann ich nicht sagen, auf meinen doch eher höherwertigeren Mandos funktionieren sie jedoch wunderbar. Ich werde dabei bleiben. Vielleicht probiere ich irgendwann nochmal Flatwounds, aber die sind in der Regel doch recht teuer.
