Versatile and great sounding

I don't have the full-size King of Tone to compare this to, but the sound of this pedal is fantastic and can give you quite a large variety of tones, thanks to the mode toggle switch. I really like the small form factor, and the build quality is top notch. One thing I did note is that the output volume of the second mode is quite a lot louder than mode 1 and 3, so you'll need to compensate if you're switching modes (in fairness it is a boost mode!). I use this as a desktop style tweaking pedal with a range of instruments, guitars and synths, and it provides a nice range of crunch and saturation tones.

Fantastic product with magic inside. It just make your guitar sounds better. That toggle switch let's you fine dial amount of clipping and compression you want. Very musical on any settings and works great with other pedals. I highly recommend it if you are into low gain blues kind of vibe.

Top-Pedal - aber nicht mein Sound

Vorab ich mag Overdrive-Pedale und habe auch schon eine Menge ausprobiert. Darunter auch solche bei denen man sich fragt warum die denn so teuer sein müssen. Als es dann den "King" in Mini gab war kein Halten mehr und nach wochenlangem Warten trudelte das lila Teil ein.
Natürlich beschäftigt man sich schon vorher mit diversen Tests und Videos und so war ich sehr gespannt. Hatte bereits eine Erfahrung mit der "Mini-Variante" des Wampler Tumnus gemacht. Ich habe für meinen Blues und Blues-Rock eine ganz klare Vorstellung von meinem Sound der mich inspiriert. Als Gitarren kommen Gibson Les Pauls mit PAF und P90 zum Einsatz. Den "kleinen Tumnus" habe ich gegen den Deluxe getauscht, weil erst dessen Settings den Sound herausgekitzelt haben den ich wollte - in Kombination mit einem Xotic BB und einem OKKO Diablo Gregor Hilden Signature, sowie den Gain-Kanälen meines BluGuitar amp1 war der Kleine top - Stand alone zu eingeschränkt.
Warum ich das erwähne? Beim Duke of Tone habe ich genau das gleiche Empfinden!Natürlich ist das sehr subjektiv, aber das ist Sound nun mal!
Fazit für mich: Nicht mein Sound, egal was ich einstelle - also Retour und einen anderen Wartenden glücklich machen.
Fakten: Super verabeitetes und robustes Pedal, platzsparend auf dem Pedalboard und mit Sicherheit durch die Schaltung OD/Boost/Dist sehr universell verwendbar und für den der es mag sicher ein toller Sound!
Deshalb volle Punktzahl - das mir der Sound nicht gefällt tut der Qualität ja keinen Abbruch!

Ich bin seit zwei Jahren auf der Warteliste für den King of Tone. Die ewig lange Wartezeit nervt. Deshalb den Duke of Tone bestellt. Ich bin völlig begeistert. Der Sound ist so genial. Passt super zum Klang meiner Tele.

Definitiv mehr als ein Wartezeit -Versüßer für den KoT, viel mehr. Derzeit mein absolutes Lieblings-Pedal.
