For that price, its a steal!
Alex Gordon 30.10.2020
I got this bass for my girlfriend to learn on, as I only had one bass in my house. Having played for 7 years, I was surprised at how good the bass was at this price. Right out of the box, it sounded good and played nicely. I taught my girlfriend some songs etc. and she had no issues playing either.

Now, for the hard part: the issues. A minor issue was that initially, the nut was painful to play at. If I played a slide from 12 down to 1, I'd hit my hand and it would hurt a lot. Over time, this has gone away. The one issue i have is the shape. although very cool, is not practical, which you should bear in mind. This was more than anything a planning issue on my part but I thought it would be worth mentioning as you may not think of it, A wall hook is a simple fix, but you cant leave the bass sitting on a stand or in the corner easily. It might fall.

Overall, I'm very impressed!

FL
Very good bass guitar to upgrade.
Frank Lirael 13.01.2023
The bass is very successful. Wood and pickups sound good, and with a good amplifier they have power. However, the Bass clefs and the bridge do not impress. The tuners wear out quickly and the bridge doesn't allow for thicker strings. Therefore, it is very good to replace the factory bass tuners with (Warwick Bass Tuner Machine), factory strings with (Daddario EXL160BT Balanced Tension). Then the guitar looks and sounds very good on EBFC#. It is good to replace the bridge with (Fender Hi Mass Bridge IV Brass) to be able to replace the strings with those listed above. I've had this Bass for 3 years, and people are always surprised by the potential of this cheap HB instrument.

C
Guitarist getting a bass for the first time
Civitar 30.07.2018
I'm primarily a metal guitarist and I wanted to get a bass for practice, basic recording, and emergency duty in various bands. Although the look is a bit extreme for me, I have been very happy with it.
Keep in mind I'm a guitarist so maybe some of my remarks are just the difference from guitar to bass that I am discovering:
PLUS: Great bass sound for rock/metal, deep and rumbling but fairly clear even with heavy distortion; looks awesome; the body actually sits comfortably across my leg when I am sitting; and it is overall great fun for a very inexpensive instrument.
MINUS: the large spiky body is a bit awkward at times - I had to get a special hanging stand just for this bass - and the neck is quite heavy and dives hard if not supported at all times. EDIT: 6 months in the tuners appear to be the weak point. When I attempted to change the strings one flat out broke and the others have been unstable at times. I upgraded to Gotoh tuners and now the instrument is rock solid. I also said earlier that the tone knob had little effect. This was WRONG, it has since become one of my favorite parts of the bass.
It is a great bass for a rocker who wants to have fun on the low end.
