I'm not an experienced luthier to compare it with expensive nuts but it was easy to work with. I got this piece to swap the white HB on by JB-75. The plastic on this one is a little better compared to the white nut. The white nut upon sanding to widen it a wee bit tiny pieces came off whereas the black one produced fine dust. I took one star off because it is hollow inside, although i didn't notice any difference in the sound.
