Great practice bass amp
JamesOrinL 12.12.2024
I have the Joyo equivalent which is nice, but this Harley Benton Jamaster is smaller, has a fatter tone, and more features. I also use the Harley Benton Mini Stomp Deep Tone five band equalizer for an even deeper tone. Fantastic sound for quiet practicing.

Just the job
chorna 12.05.2025
Wanted something light but decent sounding to practise while on holiday abroad. It scores well on both counts. It's plenty loud, but I took my ancient Hartke Bass Boost pedal to give it a slightly fuller sound and it passed the "do I want to sit for a while longer and jam?" test. The bluetooth function and headphone socket are nice touches. Only (very) minor downside is no carrying handle, but hey, for this price I could glue on a strap or buy a case.

Does everything it needs to and more!
Moosipall 10.01.2026
First off, the packaging. I ordered a cable with it too, which for some reason doubled the size of the packaging. Pointless waste of space, but I digress.

However, the amp is really great. Took some time to get a good tone, but when I did, then man was it nice. It features a gain, volume and tone knob and also overdrive, which is really adequate to my standards. It's not too raspy or loud or too mild. The volume is great, you can play plenty loud if you want to, but the quality slightly suffers a bit on the low end. It also features bluetooth! I connected and played a song and it sounded alright. The treble of the audio felt a bit weaker than the original, but it's a bass amp so I digress. Amazing for the price! It comes with a short power cable and also can fit 2 AA batteries! The amp is also light and I imagine it would be easy to carry. Great for practise at home or maybe even playing out in a small place. Definitely worth a try, did not dissappoint!

a
Super basic with one fatal flaw
arpeggiata 20.02.2026
Let's see, this is a dirt-cheap mini bass combo, which sounds as it looks: plasticky and thin. It does reproduce bass sounds, albeit with obvious plastic resonance. It distorts quite easily, even on the clean channel, though that can be adjusted with the volume pot on the instrument. The controls are straightforward and work as expected. Bluetooth is easy to connect and stream to as an external speaker. Power supply is standard 9V pedal-like with same barrel connector, meaning it can be powered with a pedal power supply or power bank. A handle or some strap pins would make it easier to grab and transport.

However, one subtle but fatal flaw that made me decide to return it, apart from the sound quality, is that the Bluetooth component connects as a speaker + microphone, when it really only is a speaker. When I connected my phone to stream some songs to play along, it worked fine, until I stopped for a moment to record a voice message, only to see that it had only recorded silence... This is because the phone thinks it is connected to a bluetooth microphone as well as speaker, but the JAMster speaker obviously is only a speaker and has no microphone. The Bluetooth chip should only connect as an external speaker, and this is a minor but annoying flaw. So, back to Treppendorf it goes.
