I bought this to use with a recently acquired Epiphone Riviera Custom guitar and I wanted a stand that not only held my new baby safe and was very compact for transporting but looked cool as well. This unit is really good. it folds down into a remarkably small size . Small enough to fit into my guitar hard case - I have it stored in the area underneath the neck of my guitar. It folds out like a sheet of origami and the horizontal holder has been designs with a step in it so that it can hold both narrow and wide bodied guitars. The unit is cleverly designed so that there are legs that extend out of the rear of the unit this offering better balance when the guitar is leaning against the back upright support. There are other similar style folding units where the legs only go forward and I felt that the DuroPro design was safer. There are softer mounded inserts where the guitar touched the unit to prevent your imstrument from being scratched .. somehting that was very important to me because the finish on my Epiphone Riviera is a work of art and theres no way I would want it damaged. Highly recommended.

More robust than the wooden ones. The padding is nitro safe (on my guitars any way).
