Impressively dynamic

The Thomann SP-2000 digital piano represents strong value and is well suited to beginners, offering a hammer action modelled after an acoustic piano with adjustable touch sensitivity for a more authentic playing experience. While the 64-note polyphony is standard for this price range, the instrument distinguishes itself with powerful 25W speakers that deliver a satisfying and rich sound. The range of 20 sounds, including five grand and upright piano tones, provides good variety for players exploring different styles, while ample connection options that include ports for two pairs of headphones, a recording device, and a computer, make the piano versatile for both practice and performance. It includes a power supply and sustain pedal, rounding out a practical, well-considered package.

Sounds and effects

The controls for the Thomann SP-2000 are positioned above the keyboard, while a range of additional features can be accessed in function mode using the dedicated buttons, providing flexibility and ease of use. The digital piano includes options such as a ten-level reverb, metronome, transpose and octave functions, Layer, Split, Twinova, and the ability to split the keyboard with identical ranges for a variety of playing scenarios. If required, the sound can be sent as a MIDI command to a connected computer instead of being routed internally, and MIDI or audio via USB-B enables sounds from other devices to play through the piano's speakers. Connection options are comprehensive, with both jack and mini-jack sockets for headphones, a USB-to-Host port for computers, a MIDI Out port for sending data to external MIDI devices, and a stereo line-out for linking to an amplifier, mixer, or recording device. Music played through the mini-jack input is heard through the piano's speakers alongside its own sound, making the instrument adaptable and well-equipped for a range of uses.

The instrument's powerful speakers ensure a rich, full-bodied sound, even for those just starting out. The metronome function helps students as they learn new pieces, and performances can be recorded through the stereo output. About Thomann Digital Pianos

Thomann-brand instruments, which are exclusively built by renowned manufacturers, now constitute a large part of Thomann’s product range alongside numerous big-name brands. With unbeatable price-performance ratios, Thomann digital pianos are the obvious first choice for students and beginners – and others too. The technical features and uncompromising sound quality they offer are usually reserved for much more expensive instruments found in the professional market segment.

For the living room and home studio

The Thomann SP-2000 sets up easily on any table and is ready to play once the power supply has been connected. Height-adjustable stands and piano benches are also available as accessories and enable each player to find a comfortable position. To accompany a musician or rehearse for a first performance, an audio source such as an MP3 player can be connected to the instrument and played through the internal speakers, blending with the piano's own tones. At the same time, the SP-2000's, compatibility with operating systems from Windows 7 and macOS 10.6.3 onwards ensures smooth integration into a variety of modern home studio setups.

Kurzbewertung
Positiv
- graduierte Hammermechanik, Anschlagdynamik und Ivory-Feeling ist super
- Sounds: Grand-Piano gut; Eltektik-Piano2, Vibraphone, Akkordion, Orgel-Sounds, Synth-Sonds und Bass okay
- vielseitige Anschlüsse
- mitgeliefertes ordentliches Sustainpedal
- Notenhalter aus Metall
- allgemeine Bedienung
- Optik, Größe, Gewicht
- Preis

Negativ
- Sounds: Harpsichord, Cavinet, Guitar-Sounds
- Choruseffekt wäre wünschenswert

Detail-Bewertung:
