They are not complete silencers but a useful amount of attenuation nevertheless

Nice little thing
Those tips are an easy way to practice everywhere when you forget your practice pad. Silent and fit perfectly A7,A5 and 2B. Last thing; they are made in Japan, not China, and this make a huge difference.

Good.
Also adds a little weight which changes the balance in a helpful way for practice.

Perfect for Practising
So i use these on some 7a sticks and find them perfect for both tapping on my studio desk as well as for practicing on my acoustic kit to keep the volume (slightly) lower. Only criticism is that as other people have said, these are very hard to put on and take off, so i would suggest getting a pair of sticks just to use with these! My 2 cents.

Very useful
They are really nice additions to turn your sticks into capable to be played in many surface. Easy to use and well produced. I always used them indoor, I cannot say anything about how it would be with outsider surfaces.

Fantastic idea!
My mum was constantly shouting at me for drumming on kitchen work tops etc. around the house, so when I saw these i jumped at the chance to get them. The great thing is the are small and easy to carry around and allow you to practice absolutley anywhere!! The only problem with them is the can be quite hard to get on and off the top of your sticks, and they also weight the top of the stick down quite a bit, apart from these two points I think they are a great idea and are alot cheaper than buying a practice pad.

Nice tool
Nice tool, fits well to all different sticks I have.
Rebound on an hard surface is not bad, you can actually practice almost everywere.
PRO:
Apart from practicing I found that using stick with tips on a cymbal It would replicate the effect of a felt mallet, which is super convenient!
CONS
Tapping noise is probably a bit louder than standard practice pads

Perfect for drum synth or similar
I bought these for use on a vintage Drum Synthesizer, the MPC-1 Music Percussion Computer. The pads are hard on it, so I needed something to soften the impact. I bought these along with the Vic Firth sticks and the work really well They dampen the sound enough to remove the loud click I was experiencing.

I have had these little Tama Silent Tips for many years now and I still get so much use out of them. They are really great little things and allow me to practice my skills in many more places - kitchen table, trains, busses - everywhere!
They're really easy to use, it is just a matter of wedging them onto the tip of your drum sticks and then whack away. They then just come off your sticks and you can put your practice to the test on the kit! I have advised some guys that I taught to pick these up too and they did, they really found them useful.
