The classic - but for me the sound isn't great
It's a classic and I was told that it is a must have for guitar amp recording.
But, it's incredibly bright and harsh sounding for my taste.
Not an easy sound to tame in the mix at all.
Maybe some people like the brittle sound you get from this mic, but for me it just hurts my ears a bit.
Otherwise, it's a strong, long last durable good looking mic that has a good reputation. :-)

Well designed, good sounding mic
I bought a pair of these mics to use with my stereo setup (2 x Boss Katana 50) and they work great. For those not familiar with it's design and common stage use, you can use this mic on a guitar cab without having to use a tripod - in my case i hang them from the amp straps. This has proven to be very useful in my modest home studio where i have limited space.
As to the sound, i personally like it, gives me a different flavor compared to my other guitar mic - SM57.
Pros - Good sound, good design, affordable
Cons - None

Quality!
Good sounding, easy to use mic. As good as the old SM57 and maybe better. Handy in that it doesn't need a mic stand, just hang it off the front of your amp and away you go...

Sounds absolutely true
Effective and true. Permanently dangling in front the speaker of a princeton reverb, into my daw. Ready to hit record. Sound is clear & strong.
Microphone is rather light, price seems reasonable for the quality.

Pros and Cons
This microphone is great for micing up amplifiers as it omits the need for a mic stand. The sound quality is comparable to an SM57. The casing is made of plastic and doesn't seem to have the durability that a 57 or a 58 would have. I wish it was more robust.

Great for live.
Great for live as no microphone stands are needed.
Microphone tend to flip side if the cable is too tight, so i use gaffer tape to hold in place

Does not get any better for the price.
The mic is clear, balanced and easy to get good sounds with. For the price, its a must buy.
Imo, as a guitar player, it gives a clear, widest recorded guitar tones than the industry standard, the sm57.

Great mic!
Definitely the best mid-priced dynamic mic for guitar cabs in live application and, inmho, works great also for brasses... no way, no other choice is possible!

Nice to hang on the front of an amp!
Don't underestimate the benefits of the design on this one- it's very handy to just hang off the front of your guitar amp. It does need a fair bit of low end rolled off when you do this though. The only criticism I have is that it feels very light and easy to damage. I watch this like a hawk when its out of the case. Not quite as flexible as the E906, but a keeper!
