The scratch innovation
With the Phase system, MWM has succeeded in developing a genuinely innovative product for scratch DJs. The Phase Essential transmitter units are simply placed on a turntable and paired with the Phase receiver, and everything's ready to go. Similar to DVS technology, the two transmitter units send a time code that corresponds to their position on the turntables to the DJ software, which then makes it possible scratch using digital tracks. The receiving station is connected to the line input of the DJ mixer via an RCA connection, which then can be received as a time code by Serato DJ, Traktor, etc. This means that, for the first time, no turntable needle is needed for scratch performances, making MWM's scratch setup faster and easier than ever before.

The DJ controller for turntables
In order to detect the position of the two transmitting units on the turntables and to be able to convert it into a time code, the transmitting units are equipped with gyro sensors - similar to those found in smartphones - which allow the modules to always know their exact position on the turntables and send precise timecode data to the DJ software. This makes MWM's Phase Essential the first real DJ controller for turntables. Phase Essential is compatible with any DJ software that supports timecode technology, a range that currently includes Serato DJ Pro, Traktor, Recordbox, and Virtual DJ; this means that Phase Essential can be integrated into almost any DJ setup.

Endless battery life
With an extra-long battery life of up to 10 hours and a short charging time of only two hours, the Phase Essential transmitter units never run out of juice, even during particularly long performances. Thanks to the gyrosensor technology, the two transmitter units are less sensitive to external noise or vibrations than conventional turntables, and since high-quality needles can be dispensed with, there is no need to use first-class turntables for the Phase system. This means that not only is the Phase Essential ideal for professional scratchers who are interested in the latest innovation: It can also reduce the entry price of scratch DJ setups and make a true scratch experience possible even for newcomers.
