A mon humble avis, ce sont certainement les meilleures cordes avec lesquelles j'ai eu la possibilité de jouer sur guitare manouche. Je trouve qu'elles ont un timbre très particulier, celui que je retrouve souvent lorsque j'écoute le virtuose Angelo Debarre. Le solo tout comme les rythmiques semblent plus faciles à accrocher avec les Gypsyfire. Mais bon, ce n'est que mon avis, aux autres de faire leur choix, il y a tant d'excellentes marques...

Sehr gut verarbeitet, Sound o.k.

Seit knapp einem Jahr spiele ich die Gypsyfire im Wechsel mit anderen Saitensätzen auf der DG-255.
Die Optima Gypsyfire EL 010/045 (aber auch die 11/46er) sind sehr gut verarbeitet und haben eine entsprechend hohe Lebensdauer. Mir ist noch keine der Gypsyfire-Saiten richtig gerissen, gewechselt werden die Saitensätze nach 4-6 Wochen bei 1-2 Stunden spielen pro Tag, oder wenn die Klangqualität einer Saite (meistens G-Saite) nachlässt (und sich dadurch der Verschleiss ankündigt).
Apropos Klangqualität: Die Gypsyfire haben in allen Bereichen einen soliden Sound. Verglichen mit anderen Saitensätzen klingen sie allerdings etwas dumpfer, weniger klar, und verursachen für mein Empfinden mehr Obertöne, wodurch ein etwas dreckigerer Sound entsteht.

La surprise

Après des années de jeu sur cordes Argentine, j'ai voulu tester ce modèle, et là surprise : ces cordes sont excellentes.
On retrouve le son caractéristique du style, le tirant est parfait et la durée de vie est bien supérieure aux cordes Argentine.
Bref une excellente surprise, au même prix que la concurrence, à essayer absolument.

Buona soluzione per chitarre gipsy

Sono una buona soluzione da installare su chitarre stile Selmer Maccaferri: il suono che si ottiene è sufficientemente brillante e ricco di medi per il jazz manouche.

Unico contro: 3/4 cm in più di lunghezza non guasterebbero perché con chitarre a scala lunga (670mm, tipica delle Maccaferri) e cassa più ampia (quindi tailpiece più distante dal ponte) sulle meccaniche si arriva proprio al limite della sezione di corda rivestita per facilitare l'avvolgimento
