Habe die Saiten auf einer Seagull (62,8er Mensur) im Open-D-Tuning (G-Saite auf F#), und die Saiten stehen ordentlich unter Zug.
Die 3 tiefen Saiten fühlen sich dabei ziemlich gut an, auch gut für Daumenarbeit, aber die drei hohen sind zuviel des Guten, zumindest für Fingerpicking - straff wie Stahlseile, und meine Saitenlage ist schon ziemlich flach. Insgesamt kann man sagen, die Saiten sind in der Straffheit sehr ausgewogen, aber erfordern zuviel Fingerdruck in Open-D. Ein oder zwei Halbtöne tiefer stimmen bietet sich an. Mit Plektrum wohl eine Bank, aber für Fingerpicking bleibt in der Stimmung/Straffheit zu wenig Sustain. Ich werde die drei hohen Saiten gegen welche aus einem 13er Satz austauschen.

Ich probiere mich gerade erst aus, mit dickeren Saiten, da sich diese zum Sliden gut eignen. Ich habe sie auf eine Dobro Resonator von der Marke Harley Benton aufgezogen und bin nicht enttäuscht worden. Satter Sound, wie versprochen eignen sich diese Saiten auch super zum Sliden. Etwas Übung im Umgang mit dem aufziehen, solch dickeren Saiten, bedarf es schon. Aber es klappt und ich bin Hellauf begeistert. Die Lautstärke ist schön angenehm und ein Satter Warmer Ton kommt über die Saiten rüber. Freue mich über diese Wahl, genauso auch über die tollen Beschreibungen von Thomann und den schon ansässigen Autoren. Ich empfehle sie gerne weiter.
