Nice alternatives

The First thing I noticed when I touched them is that the plastic is a bit soft in comparison to every cymbal sleeve I use f.e. Yamaha, Dixon, Gibraltar. It doesn't feel cheap, but only time will tell how long will they last.

The second thing I noticed is that they will not screw all the way on my Yamaha cymbal stand (8 mm thread), although it does say that it fits 6 mm and 8 mm cymbal stands.
So based on that, they fit the 6 mm cymbal stands, but they will just screw halfway through on an 8 mm thread, which is not a stability problem but my OCD kinda reacts to it.

Now after long hours of practicing, jamming etc. They seem to be perfect for what they are supposed to do... My cymbal will not fly away during hard playing and even my sizzle chain will not fly out.

The negative thing I have to say though and probably a really important one, is that I think that the vibrations from the cymbals travel easily to the cymbal stands with these sleeves, and I noticed it because I can hear a different humming sound during the cymbal sustain which is really annoying...

A great idea.

I bought these as I like not having wing nuts etc to deal with. I'm into making set up and tear down as easy and as quick as possible these days. I use to use T-Tops on my cymbal stands which are no longer available and when I moved over to using the lighter tama classic stand the thread portion where the felts etc are mounted were shorter so my present mounting system were no longer satisfactory. After trying a few differant ideas I came across these and have now fitted them on 8mm Tama Classic stands, Gibraltar stands and 6mm Sonor stands and some old Premier Olympic (70's) stands using a small bit of electrical tape as suggested on their site. They were all easy to fit and I added some cympads as I had them. What I like is there is no metal posts exposed so no fear of cymbals being keyholed or the cymbal being hit when mounted. Only just got them so can't say how long they will last. I would be carefull of them in my hardware bag just in case they may get broken so will carry a few spare.

Macht was es soll
