Fully revised HEDDphones
Like all HEDD products, the HEDDphone Two headphone is handmade in Berlin, with an attention to detail that really does justice to the unique Air Motion Transformer drivers used here – for a fantastic stereo image and great definition and transparency. The HEDDphones have been fully revised since version One, especially in terms of construction: Thanks to the use of carbon fibre and magenesium, the HEDDphone Two is considerably lighter and more compact than its predecessor, which makes it appreciably more comfortable to wear. It also helps that the headband is fully adjustable, ensuring the perfect fit for any head. The HEDDphone Two comes with two Kevlar-reinforced dual-sided cables (one ending in a 6.3mm jack, the other in 4.4mm Pentaconn), as well as two adapters and a second set of ear cushions.

Variable Velocity Transformation
The AMT principle was designed for use as a tweeter in high-end studio loudspeakers, which is still its primary habitat to this day. However, by entirely revising the geometry of the membrane, the engineers at HEDD have succeeded in turning the Air Motion Transformer into a full-range driver. The technology behind this feat is called Variable Velocity Transformation, which provides a linear frequency response that goes well beyond the audible sound spectrum, as well offering a more direct response than traditional drivers. With a sensitivity of 89db SPL/mW, the HEDDphone Two requires a high-performance headphone amplifier to really show off its full potential.

For the mixing desk and the editing suite
Neutrality, accuracy, transparency, breadth – these are the qualities that define the HEDDphone Two. The unique VVT technology allows the electrodynamic Air Motion Transformers to cover the entire audible spectrum, although of course they do need to be driven at a decent level to fully reproduce contours and dynamics in the low end. An open-ear headphone, the HEDDphone Two is ideally suited for mixing and mastering duties, but also for audio tracking or the editing suite. This fully revised model is more comfortable to wear than the HEDDphone One, both because the weight has been reduced by around 200g, and because the headband is fully adjustable, in terms of height, pressure, width, and curvature.

About HEDD
The family-owned company HEDD Audio was founded in 2015 in Berlin, where it still manufactures its high-quality studio monitors, subwoofers, and hi-fi speakers, as well as headphones – or HEDDphones. The name HEDD stands for Heinz ElectroDynamic Design, after its founder Klaus Heinz (who also founded ADAM Audio); his son, who himself has a PhD in musicology, is now CEO. The company’s R&D work is based on their decades of experience, and its mission is to deliver outstandingly detailed sound and optimum signal quality.
