Very noisy devices
Blandrys 30.10.2021
I think the device is broken because the sound is really glitchy and absolutely terrible. Will return it.

EDIT: Got sent a replacement. This has a fuzz sound that is, well, okey'ish, especially on powerchords, but unfortunately this unit is, like several of the other ministomp pedals I ordered, extremely noisy. if you only use one device at the time the noise is not too prominent (although once I started spotting it now I hear it all the time) but if you add another high gain ministomp after it, like distortion, then this will amplify the background hiss further to the point where it can't be ignored. these devices don't really work together. which is a shame because that's sort of the idea with these units, no?

seems like Thomann put the money mostly on classy packaging and solid metal casing but skipped on the quality of the electronics. of the four ministomp I ordered only one had what I would refer to as a relatively clean sound, the other three I will be returning.

Far from a good fuzzface
Doc Loco 06.11.2021
It is expected to be a germanium fuzz face clone but it is a bad one: the only usable setting is everything on ten and modulation thx to your guitar volume pot. And if that setting usually works fine on a fuzz face, here it is not even decent. Only good point: pedal is pretty ...

Not what I expected, even for the price.
klemi 06.11.2021
Has volume issues and is really quiet. Does not sound like a fuzz pedal at all. I don't know, maybe I got a defective unit, which can be expected for such an affordable price, you have to keep this in mind. Thomann has a nice return policy so it shouldn't be a problem.

r
Jimi Hendrix it ain’t
rudedog 21.10.2021
I’ll get straight to the point, the sound quality is just terrible. In what world does anyone think this sounds like a 60s Jimi style fuzz?! It’s just a mushy mess even with the gain at its lowest setting. I also couldn’t achieve unity even with the volume knob maxed out.

It’s a shame because I also ordered the Plexicon and True Grit mini stomps at the same time and they both sound great for the money. This was a disappointment though. Yes, it’s cheap as chips, but in my view, totally unusable. At the end of the day, you get what you pay for.
