Defective A string
I have enjoyed Harley Benton items for many years and thought I would give these a try, expecting them to be a good standard and value for money. Sadly, despite very careful cutting (I always make two 90 degree bends in the silk before cutting to save damaging the strings) the A string was defective and rattled from within the string.
I contacted Thomann and offered to send it back for a replacement but they confirmed it was not covered by any warranty.
The whole set has therefore been thrown in the bin.
Don’t risk wasting your money on these like I did.

Affordable flatwound Bass strings
Good value for money. Sound great on my Squier Jazz bass. Will definitely be buying these again.

They last and sound good
I use these strings on a bass in a recording studio. The price was worth buying them without much risk. I have used these strings on about a dozen recorded songs and they sound consistently decent. I’m not feeling like I need to restring that bass. If they did, I would gladly do it with these strings again. The strings don’t sound excited, but they sound perfect for some of the psychedelic songs I played bass on. It also complained nice groovy bass lines where you have to slide on the strings a lot. I would say it’s not the best for slap bass. Also, when I’m watching a TV show with my family, I can play bass with these strings I’m pretty silent and not distracting when it’s not plugged in. With normal wound strings it would be a bit annoying during a show because wound strings are louder. But these just have a nice mellow, groovy tone and you can play pretty busy and get a good even volume with them.

Good ones
Wanted to try flat wound strings on bass, but didn't want to spend a fortune. Very decent strings, in my opinion.

Cheapest flats I could find, but...
just a little too dull. Better than bright rounds though groundwounds are undoubtedly the best compromise - not too dull but not too bright. These are OK at a push though.

One of the best purchases I've made for my bass.
I'm extremely happy with this purchase. I've always wanted to try this type of string to see if I'd like it, and besides loving the tone, the grip, and the feel, the price makes it even better! Now I know I can invest in better strings for my bass in the future.
I recommend them to anyone who wants to use these strings, not just for testing, as they also have an incredible sound that won't disappoint.

Excellent flatwounds on-par with major brands at a fraction of the price
I've tried out many flatwounds over the years: Chromes, TIs, LaBellas, Roto monels, groundwounds, Fender flats and more...
I really like this. I find them totally comparable in terms of finish quality and sound with the strings by major brands. I find the tone is better then Fenders and the sound balance between strings (volume, sustain, tone) better then LaBellas. I don't use LaBellas and Fenders even though already have them, I still use these. And all this for a quarter of the price!
I don't like that many users say they are good "for the price". There is nothing "budget" about these strings, they're be great at 3x their price.
If you're considering getting them: just get them and try out.

Great strings.
My first set of flatwound strings and I'm delighted with them. Great feel. Bought them for my Harley Benton JB-40FL resistless bass and they're ideal. Will buy again.

Simply brilliant.
Fancied some flats again, usually use Fender or Ernies.
Bought a set if the Harley Benton value flats and have to day they are great.
Easy install.
Hold tune well.
Feel great on the fingers, sooooo smooooth....these are quick strings with none of 'stickyness' of some brands I've tried. I tend to play near the bridge and not too stiff.
Nice tone, quite bright for flats but, they respond well to different playing methodology.
