Single-cone resonator with pickup
The Harley Benton Custom Line N-150CE Natural is a single-cone resonator guitar built on a Mini Jumbo Sapele body with a cutaway, aimed at Blues and Bluegrass players who want the resonator's characteristic projection and mid-forward tone at an accessible price. The okoumé neck features a U-shaped profile, a 635mm scale length, and a 43mm-wide bone nut, paired with a purple heart fingerboard with 20 medium jumbo frets, ABS binding on both body and neck, and die-cast chrome machine heads. Adding to the guitar's versatility, a Rising P3004 mini humbucker at the neck position allows the instrument to be amplified without a microphone, with independent volume and tone controls.
Cone, spider, and pickup
The JM-02 single cone and JM-03 spider bridge are the acoustic engine here: Unlike a conventional acoustic guitar, the resonator cone acts as a mechanical amplifier, giving the instrument its characteristic projection and metallic edge. The spider bridge distributes the string vibrations across the cone's surface rather than at a single point, producing the focused, penetrating midrange characteristic of the format - a sound that cuts through acoustic accompaniment in most ensemble contexts - while the purple heart and maple bridge plate add extra sustain. For amplified use, the Rising P3004 mini humbucker captures the strings directly rather than relying on a microphone being placed in front of the resonator; the volume and tone controls on the lower bout handle the rest. The cutaway gives clear access to the upper frets, and the 43mm nut width accommodates both flatpicking and fingerstyle approaches without crowding.
Blues, Bluegrass, and slide
The N-150CE Natural suits players whose primary tools are a bottleneck or a flatpick in a band context – the resonator format is built for projection and presence, and the mid-forward character cuts through acoustic ensembles where a standard dreadnought might not. There is a trade-off, however: The same cone voicing that cuts through a Bluegrass circle or Blues jam can feel more assertive in a quiet solo performance, where its upper-mid emphasis is harder to ignore. The mini humbucker extends the instrument's range into amplified territory – clean for Country-inflected chord work, or pushed into light overdrive for a more electric Blues character.

Sessions, stages, and slide work
In an acoustic session with other instruments, the N-150CE Natural holds its ground without amplification – the resonator's natural output handles most room-volume situations without reinforcement. Plugged into a small tube combo with a clean setting, the mini humbucker produces a warm, slightly compressed tone well suited to Chicago-style Blues phrasing or Piedmont fingerpicking patterns. With a glass or metal slide, the spider bridge setup responds with the clear sustain and smooth decay that the format is known for – intonation stays consistent along the neck, and the bone nut keeps open tunings stable across D, G, and open A. For players coming to the resonator from a standard acoustic, the sapele body and okoumé neck also keep the overall weight and feel manageable.
