Many well-known long-established tunes presented in the bass clef.

I like a lot of the content in here. It seems to be one of the better and most useful 'real books', especially if you like the variety offered and you also need to - or wish to - use bass clef. I found it can be handy even if you often play a mid-pitched instrument using treble clef music, to have the bass clef version to try and then improvise from as well.

Empfehlenswerter Teil 2 der Jazz-Bibel!

Natürlich ist die Mehrheit der bekannten Jazzstandards im ersten Band versammelt. Allerdings vermisst man dort doch die ein oder andere berühmte Komposition, bei der man sich zu Recht fragt, wieso sie nicht ins erste Buch mit aufgenommen wurde. Wer sich nun die Mühe des illegalen Kopierens oder Downloadens dieser noch fehlenden bekannten Stücke ersparen möchte, sollte sinnvollerweise das Real Book Vol. 2 käuflich erwerben. Man bekommt in bekannt guter Ausstattung, sowohl was das Druckbild, als auch die Verarbeitung anbelangt, den beliebten 435-seitigen Wälzer im waffentauglichen 23x28x3 Format. Bei der Vorder-und Rückumschlagseitewürde ich mir einen etwas stärkeren Karton wünschen. Die Spiralbindung ist stabil und ermöglicht ein Aufschlagen in jedem nur möglichen Winkel. Aber auch hier würde mir, wie bei allen dicken Real Book Ausgaben überhaupt, eine Art Ringbuchmechanik besser gefallen, um dadurch die Möglichkeit zu bekommen, einzelne Blätter herauszunehmen. Dann könnte man sich bei einer Session die spannende Angelegenheit" dickes Buch auf wackeligem Notenständerchen" ersparen. Wenn man nicht sowieso mit Tablet arbeitet. Aber alles in allem auch hier beim zweiten Band eine günstige Anschaffung fürs Leben.
