Wer den warmen Ton von Bronze und Seide mag, ist mit diesen Saiten gut bedient. Sie klingen sehr angenehm warm und zugleich klar und lassen sich leicht spielen. Akkordbegleitung klingt homogen und ausgewogen, keine schrillen bzw. störenden Höhen. Singlenotespiel wird mit schneller Ansprache und Klarheit abgebildet. Das gilt für den rein akustischen wie auch den Klang über Pickup. Beim Lagenwechsel entstehen so gut wie keine Geräusche wie etwa Rutschen oder Quietschen, die Saiten halten schnell und lang die Stimmung.

Allerdings verlieren sie wie alle nicht-beschichteten Saiten schnell an Brillianz und ein neuer Satz wird besonders dann fix fällig, wenn man feuchte Hände hat und die Saiten nicht sofort nach dem Spielen pflegt, d.h. sorgfältig trocknet. Insofern relativiert die nicht überdurchschnittliche Haltbarkeit den Anschaffungspreis, da man schließlich die Saiten öfter wechselt, wenn man den vollen Obertonumfang für z. B. Recording-Geschichten nutzen möchte. Unabhängig davon kann man sie aber auch einfach mit Genuss spielen.

Ich habe schon einiges an Mandolinen Saiten ‚durch‘, und muss sagen das diese Saiten auf meinem Instrument, eine Eastman MD 615, von allen bisher gespielten Saiten die besten sind. Der Klang ist genauso wie ich ihn haben will, warm und kraftvoll, und das Spielgefühl ist sehr angenehm, fast weich, zu nennen.

Wie ihr wisst musst Du für Dein Instrument ja immer erst die passenden Saiten finden. Das ist ein Prozess bei dem Du einiges an Erfahrung machst und Saitenkunde lernst. Dauert einiges, aber es lohnt sich. Ich für meinen Teil habe das seit einiger Zeit hinter mir und kann diese Mandolinen Saiten ‚wärmstens‘ empfehlen. Unbedingt ausprobieren.
