PDP stands for “Pacific Drums and Percussion” and is a brand founded by renowned manufacturer DW, which sells drums and hardware at affordable prices. With the 800 series, PDP offers medium-weight hardware in a robust form, with all products boasting design elements and technical features that can also be found in DW’s professional hardware series. The 800 series also includes cymbal stands, hi-hat stands, snare drum stands, single and double bass drum pedals, and even a fully equipped hardware set, thus providing all the essential drum hardware components.

Pedal with excellent performance characteristics

The DW PDP 800 Double Pedal is fitted with concentric dual-chain drive systems, which are attached to a dual-column frame, and provides a comfortable playing feel thanks to its excellent performance characteristics. The footboards and heel pieces are produced with a smooth finish, whilst solid steel base plates with retractable spikes and a bass drum fixture ensure reliable stability. The conventional spring suspensions also allow easy adjustment of the beater and footboard angle, complete with the option to vary the spring tension. The beaters additionally offer two different playing surfaces and come with memory locks.

All products from the PDP 800 series have been designed by the renowned manufacturer DW (Drum Workshop) in California. In terms of design and technical features, they reflect the professional hardware series available from DW, but carry a budget-friendly price tag, which primarily aims them at ambitious new drummers, music schools, and music teachers. However, the medium-weight and stable design combined with the high-quality workmanship involved in creating these products also makes them an excellent choice for all advanced drummers.

About PDP

PDP is the acronym for "Pacific Drums and Percussion" and is the name of a California-based drum and hardware manufacturer. The company was founded in 1999 by DW Drums to offer affordable instruments in addition to its own exclusive - and correspondingly expensive - brand, DW drums. To reduce costs, the production of the drum shells was outsourced first to Mexico and later to China. PDP has always used many original parts from the DW series. The Concept Series, with shells made of 100% maple, is currently the flagship in the portfolio. The Black Wax snare drums, available in six different sizes, are also part of the product range.

A responsive drumming experience

The affordability of the DW PDP 800 Double Pedal makes it the ideal choice for more minimalist drum setups in rehearsal rooms and classrooms, but also suitable for more advanced setups. Both the concentric double-chain drive systems and the heel piece bearings ensure flawless performance characteristics and thus a responsive drumming experience. The solid base plates with additional rubber coating also increase slip resistance on smooth surfaces, whilst the additional memory locks on the beaters save valuable time during the setup process.

The best entry into double kick

I managed to set this pedal up within around 15 minutes of taking it out of the box, no manual required as it was such a straightforward process. Very high build quality, solid construction, etc.

Very unstable pedal with lots of flex. Not very smooth at all. The worst pedal I have used in 33 years of playing drums.

Ist jetzt das zweite Doppelpedal, das ich mir zugelegt habe! In der Preiskategorie um 180 Euro ist es natürlich nicht mit den Schwergewichten anderer Top- Hersteller zu vergleichen! Ist sehr stabil, gut aufzubauen, habe am Set genug Platz für alle drei Pedale ( Hi Hatmaschiene mit drehbaren Beinen) und lässt sich sehr sauber und schnell spielen! Wie gesagt, habe noch kein Pedal für 1500-1900 Euro ausprobiert!
