I
The best preamp you will need
I bought It for my SM7B. I was ussing a fretthead, which was nice and doing its work, but i was feeling that the sound wasn't as good as It should. I always felt that the gain I had to put on it for the sound to be clear was either too much or i had to be too close to the mic.
The CL-X did what i was expecting and more. The preamp is not a very noticeable part of your system, or at least not an easy one to point at when looking for a better sound. As soon as I plugged it and pressed the +12 button, i was relieved. That's what i was looking for. That's what i needed to lower the gain and not be so close to the mic all the time.
Must buy if your microphone needs a standalone preamp, worth every Penny/cent
