Catalinbread has some problems lately

I had a few versions of SFT before. My favorite one is previous, without a switch. But this one sounds nice too.

Sometimes I feel, like with my Telecaster I get not too much gain in stones mode, and too much in stoner. But overall it is good. A bit mid-focused, with loose low end. Stacks nice with Treble booster and fuzz.

What disappointed me, is that quality a bit off lately. On my pedal knobs are not the right one. Too small to cover shaft properly. Also, enclosure was not polished properly, so graphics looks pretty poor. Not a deal breaker, but I had 15+ Catalinbread pedals before, and non of them had quality issues. Also, for €200+ you could expect, that every aspect would be taking into account.

I play bass with it. Responds sooooo good to my finger touch and playing dynamics, especially when you run it on 18V. My best sounding pedal on my pedalboard

C'est un drive particulier. Amateur d'overdrive hyper transparent, passez votre chemin, elle a une personnalité très marquée, les réglages de tone et de drive interagissent, bref...Faut passer du temps dessus pour bien la prendre en main...Mais force est d'admettre que Catalinbread a fait du bon boulot...La réponse dynamique est vraiment très proche d'un bon vieux tube amp, le dual mode (stone/stoner) est vraiment un plus, permettant de passer du break up léger à la déflagration sonore qui fait trembler les murs...Fonctionne bien sur une basse aussi, évidemment...

Die mittlerweile dritte Inkarnation des SFT. Klanglich auch im alten Stones Modus anders als V1 und V2. Deutlich mehr Gain und schneller in der Kompression, aber ohne den Charakter zu verlieren. Für Gitarristen ist der Stonermodus ein sehr breiter und dichter, leicht fuzziger Distortion. Southern und Stonerrocker könnten daran ihre Freude haben. Am Bass nur bedingt brauchbar, aber wo ein Wille ist.

Für die Portion Dreck, Durchsetzungsfähigkeit und Dynamik im Sound der ideale Wegbegleiter.
