Excellent choice if you are in the market for a light but sturdy practice mute

Although not as compact as a BEST Brass practice mute, the Bremner Shhh mute is an excellent practice aid for those times when you dont want to regale your neighbours late at night. Its study, but light construction means that you are not adding lots of weight to possibly an already heavy instrument. The mute enables users to produce a clear sound - even in the pedal register, with very little back pressure. Definitely up there with Yamaha Silent Brass as a mute.

Bremner sshh - Stille Nacht...

Ich habe mir diesen Dämpfer für mein Hauptinstrument mit 10" (254mm; mit .563 bore)Becher bestellt - passt, wackelt nicht und geht gut Luft durch!!

Der Dämpfer hält aber auch wunderbar in dem kleinen 8"(203mm) Becher meiner .525 bore(13,34mm,wie Bach 36er) Tenorposaune. Also brauch´ich mir nicht noch einen Tenormute extra ordern. Vermutlich wäre er für 2b, 3b und Co aber doch zu weit.

OK, es ist nicht zu vergleichen mit "offen und Vollgas"- hatte ich auch nicht erwartet! Zum Vergleich: er ist gut leiser, als mein schon ziemlich dämpfender Orchesterdämpfer(Faser-straightmute von Wallace).
Aber statt abends wieder mal nicht zu üben, weil sich,wer auch immer, gestört fühlen könnte, kann ich nun endlich leise spielen, wann es mir passt... ;-)

Ein nettes Gimmick ist auch die Stofftasche, die beim Dämpfer mit dabei ist! Toll!!

Muy buena compra

Recientemente me ha llegado esta sordina y me ha sorprendido gratamente, había probado muchas sordinas de estudio pero ninguna me parece tan eficaz como esta, cómoda en todos los registros, deja pasar bien el aire, la afinación no es un desastre (como pasa con otras) y permite estudiar largos ratos sin sufrir.

J'habite en appartement, je travaille en majorité avec cette sourdine muette.

Elle atténue parfaitement le son tout en respectant les positions des lèvres.

Diffère le souffle que l'on met mais ne l'obstrue pas complètement.

Cette sourdine ajoute du poids à l'instrument, il est difficile de jouer des heures avec (même pour les lèvres).

Je suis très satisfait, elle fait exactement ce que je lui demande en atténuant le son tout en respectant en majorité ma façon de jouer.
