Percussion pad with a variety of features

The Alesis Strike MultiPad is an electronic percussion pad with an impressive range of functions: Its 32GB internal memory comes with a 6GB library of over 7,000 samples as standard, including acoustic and electronic drum and percussion sounds as well as sound effects, loops, and even an extensive selection of tonal instruments (e.g. timpani, mallets, and synths). The remaining free memory space can be used to import the user's own sounds, which can be copied from a USB stick or recorded, cut, and edited directly using the Strike MultiPad's internal sampler function. In addition, the Strike MultiPad includes a conventional loop station, which can be used to create loops using not only the drum pads themselves but also signals received via the audio inputs.

Nine drum pads with smart additional functions

The Alesis Strike MultiPad's nine velocity-sensitive drum pads allow the user to trigger sounds and loops, and they also have many additional functions that include navigating through kits, activating the five internal multi-effects processors, and controlling the click (including a tap tempo feature). In addition, the playing pads can be organised in different grouping modes, e.g. in order to layer or alternate between different sounds. The generously sized RGB lights below the pads can be freely assigned different colours and a variety of lighting and flashing modes (e.g. synchronous to the click). This feature makes the Strike MultiPad an eye-catcher on stage and also means that the user can always maintain an overview of the pad assignment and hit their marks correctly even in poor lighting conditions.

Pro-level hybrid drumming

With the Alesis Strike MultiPad, drummers and percussionists looking to integrate electronic elements into their setup get a high-quality instrument which, with its diverse array of sounds, its wide range of functions, and its solid build quality, absolutely meets professional demands. Thanks to a large number of additional trigger inputs (ten additional channels), the Strike MultiPad can also be easily upgraded with external drum pads and pedals. A suitable mounting plate (with a hole spacing of 10cm x 7cm) and a multiclamp are recommended to integrate it into an existing drum set.

About Alesis

Alesis was founded in 1984 by Keith Barr in Hollywood, California, and has become one of the leading manufacturers of signal processors, drum machines, synthesizers, and other studio equipment. The company’s most successful products during its early years were the MIDIverb, the HR-16 drum machine, and the ADAT multitrack digital recorders. In 2001, Alesis was acquired by Numark owner Jack O’Donnell and is now part of his InMusic parent company alongside brands like AKAI, Denon, and many other well-known names in the audio manufacturing industry. Alesis has also been a major player in the field of e-drums for many years and offers a large choice of products in all price ranges.

Extensive connectivity

The Alesis Strike MultiPad features two separately controllable stereo output channels including a double headphone output (6.3mm jack and 3.5mm mini-jack) and can be easily integrated into a live setup with its function-oriented routing system. Two stereo inputs in 6.3mm jack format are provided to allow the sampler function to be used, which are also equipped with a microphone preamplifier and allow microphones that do not require phantom power to be connected. The Strike MultiPad can also be combined with a computer and used as a 2-in/2-out USB audio interface (MIDI via USB). However, it can also be used as a MIDI controller via the conventional MIDI interface. When it comes to managing kits and sounds, the Strike MultiPad relies entirely on its own controls and the 4.3" colour display.
