these monitors are excellent and produce an exclusive sound. It is a speaker you should look into and is surprisingly affordable.

Best speakers in this price range (that I have heared)

(Although I have to admit I haven`t had a chance to compare them to Adams)

But while comparing them to other speakers I could hear every instrument more clearly on HS7s.
The only downside is, they are maybe lacking a bit on bottom end, but still the pitch and shape of sound of the bass is more clear on HS7s.

I use them in my home studio and for me they do their job perfectly.

Also they seem to be very robust and well built.


Edit: I got focal trios - now these Yamahas seem like a toy, but still, they are a good solid monitor, that has served me for half a decade.
If you wish to start on studio work, I recommend.

Great but not for close monitoring

These are great pair of monitors but I can hear an inherent noise floor because I use them close to me in my small studio, especially if the studio is quiet. this noise is present even if there's nothing connected to them, so is not my system. Is not too bad but it can be heard in my case at about 1.2 meters. The noise is hard to hear at about 2.5 meters. Once you play sounds it is imperceptible. I used cheaper monitors and their noise floor is not perceptible at this distance, I really have to put my ear close to the cone to hear the noise. Anyways, I hope you find this helpful.
