Can't beat theese
Christian5194 13.01.2014
The Warwick 42200M Red Label bass strings are fantastic. I bought theese for a setup on a bass I was going to sell, mainly because they were cheap/affordable. What I didn't expect was that they were fantastic strings. They were punchy, clear, rich and defined right our of the box, slapping has NEVER sounded so good before, and single note work was rich and full and when you dug in with a pick they growled and snarled just like you'd want them to.

If you're thinking about buying a set of theese, do it! They are great and will last you a long time. If you ever feel that they could sound a little more fresh, just take them off, put them in boiling water for a few seconds at a time, and slap them on again.. Like new!

Excellent clarity
Anonymous 14.08.2015
These strings are really and amazing product, especially for the price, the tone is really bright and punchy and has plenty of clarity even when going down to C, mine is currently tuned to drop C# and the tension is still good too. Their brightness also complements the slap technique and picking and works well with an overdriven tone. If you play metal, punk, rockor any genre that requires a clear, bright tone I highly suggest you check out these strings, this gauge is really good for detuning but if you only tune to standard, you can get a lighter gauge, which will surely be easier on your hands.

Best budget strings you'll find
nksegos 24.03.2020
I've been using this string brand as my main one for the last 6 years and I've never been disappointed with them. They're great sounding strings and for this price, they simply can't be beat.

Of course, if one can afford something more "premium" for the specific use of recording or something similar, they are encouraged to do so. But even a fresh pack of warwick reds, can solidly get the job done. Please note, that for optimal sound quality and overall experience you should be changing your strings relatively often.

Great strings at a great price
Surprisingly better than expected 25.08.2023
I go through bass strings regularly as I strive for the trebly edgy sound. Given this I don’t want to pay over the odds for strings. So in my search I came along the Warwick red labels bass strings. My expectations were moderate.
Put the strings on my Ibanez headless - my number 1 bass. They strung well and settled down quickly holding tuning well. The sound was good too to my pleasant surprise. I usually keep strings on my bass for about a month or 8-10 gigs. These strings outlasted my expectations and I kept them on for 2 months and a total of 17 gigs before they started to dull. All in all I am very happy with my purchase and have ordered more sets to continue using for the foreseeable.

Best strings for the price by far
Niiko 08.11.2025
Ive tried pretty much all the brands available in the market and Im stuck with this set.
Ive played for over 20 years and I can tell right away when a set of bass strings die. The brightness and body of the sound last much much longer than other brands, you just need to wipe them with a dry cloth after playing and will last for a good while. And dont forget the price! I change strings every 2-3 months and due to the price of this set it doesnt hurt my pocket.

B
Best buy for bass strings
Bjørn 24.01.2015
I have used these for years, and I'm very satisfied. They sound more than good enough, and are so cheap it's easy for the wallet to change often. No wonder they don't sell these at music stores, because they would outsell all the other brands in no time at all!! The nickel variant are a little brighter than the plain steel, but only for a short while.. Higly recommended!

Excellent value

These stainless steel strings produce a really bright sound and are just incredible value for money. Ideal for players wanting a clean tone. The shrink wrapped packaging ensures they arrive factory fresh. Excellent strings at a great price.
