My son started playing Clarinet a year ago and tried all different kinds of reeds. Some were better than others. but the Vandoren Classic Blue, he found to be much more durable and easier to play with.

It's the classic blue for a reason - you know what sound you're going to get from the blue reeds. I have been trying out other reeds like the 56, but I do keep the blues on hand for concert band.

Good reeds

My wife is the clarinet player and she tells me that these are good reeds - though she prefers the 'Vandoren 56 Rue Lepic 2.5 Bb-Clarinet ' - feeling that they are a bit purer.

That said, she was happy with these reeds until Rue Lepic ones arrived.

She would still recommend these, depending on the players 'taste'.

I've been using Vandoren classic blue reeds for 15 years and they never disappoint. The best reeds in the market in my opinion.

The Vandoren reeds are the most popular ones between student and professional clarinetists. So there is no way to go wrong with them. I purchased 10 expecting them to come in a sealed box but it did not happen.
