Does its job
It works, it adds around 20 db of gain. Nothing magical it does what it's supposed to. If you have a good audio interface preamp I'm not sure you'd need it even with a RE20 or a SM7B

Worth the money
I needed this to operate my Shure Sm7B mic. Having used a CloudLifter before, I wasn't sure if the Fethead would be any good. Honestly, it does sound great - and you can get a massive gain boost without any interference. There is a little hiss when you really crank it though, which I know isn't an issue with the CloudLifter.
My advise:
Fethead = does the job. Smaller, more compact. Cheaper alternative but not as clean as the CloudLifter in my opinion. It depends on what you're recording, really! Both will work just fine.

Great and efficient mic Pre
I recently bought this pre for a rather silent Shure sm7b, most audio interfaces in the market can't properly drive the mic without introducing a fairly consistent amount of noise. The Fethead boosted the signal by 27db, which is a more than decent amount to achieve a clean and trasparent recording. I would highly suggest it first of all for its simplicity and size. It's a great no-nonsense pre that will do exactly what it says. I'll look forward to test it with my other dynamic mics.

Does the job & small footprint!
I bought this head with an sm7b and this works like a charm. Boosts my signal and doesn't raise the noise floor (At least from what I hear).
It is a very small preamp so I'd advise folks to be careful if you are going to be constantly taking it out of your mic as it is very easy to lose.

Looks funny on the mic
I use this on my Beyer M160 and it makes the mic look so long it's a bit funny and mic handling becomes a bit clumsy :D It works OK and I am not sure if it affects the sound in any way (bad or good). Will let you know about any sound factors if I notice them. Looks stable and well made. I recommend.
