Thon Studio Desktop Rack 4U black

Beautiful and well built 4 U rack shelf. Very nice way of holding your rack gear in a neat and tidy way. Because let's face it?it's distracting to have a messy workflow and ergonomics matter. It's nice to be able to focus on creating music rather than being annoyed that your stuff is all over the place. A 500-series rack would be an excellent fit with this, either with an additonal 1U unit or with a blind rack cover. If you're using a lap top, this rack stand would also serve as a great stand for that?simply place the computer on top of it and perhaps a secondary larger monitor on the side.

I bought two of these to sit on my desk either side of my mixer. I initially thought these might be a bit pricey for what they are when looking at them on the site, but I took the plunge.

First impressions were, nicely made, finished and sturdy, and comes with bolts and plastic washers (nice). I was apprehensive about the rack system itself. I'd personally not seen the system before. I was however pleasantly surprised at how easy it was to fit units into it. The 'receptor nut's have a sort of spring loaded recess which makes finding them with the bolts really easy. I also like the vertical flexibility it gives you to position your gear if you need it to seat non standard units.

Overall, I couldn't be happier with these racks. They look great and are very practical and sturdy. Much better than anything I could make myself, which was something I considered.

Worth every penny.
