clip around the ear..
Graham M. 15.05.2013
i play the bodhran (irish drum) although the clip on this mic is a bit flimsy i couldn't clip it onto the rim of the drum as it kept slipping off as with playing this drum you would move around quite a bit, sound quality of the mic itself is fantastic and in my opinion better than some leading brands on the market. unfortunately the clip lets it down, although for me i found a way around that problem by taking the clip apart and using the the parts (screws) bolted this mic permanently to my bodhran and i'am more than happy with this product. conclusion come on t.bone for such a good quality mic sort the clip out!
still 10 out of 10 for sound quality.

Good mic for recording my saxophone sound
Sn00zerman 15.08.2020
I have saxofoon, and I needed a way to record the sound of it, into my DAW. This microphone is actually suprisingly good in doing this job. Sax sound warm and clear in my DAW.

Amazing for any live brass!
Anonymous 23.01.2015
Used this on sax at every gig I did for a year until the sax player stole it and now I hate him for it. Live engineers were constantly absolutely baffled by how clear and resistant to feedback it was, and the clamp is so steady it even managed to stay on when the player decided to crowdsurf! Its sound is warm but not muddy, and bright but not harsh, and the classic honk from close-mic'd brass is just not there. The only downside is the xlr cable being already attached to it so you can't swap in for a higher quality cable.

Multipurpose

I've bought it for a trombone and sold it to a violinist. I need another one, but don't play that much at the moment.

Amazing sound for the price.

Great sound quality mic
Vaskara 24.08.2021
It's a well balanced mic, ideal for a range of instruments. Placement is a key to capture the full breadth of the sound but the end result is incredible.

I personally bought it for my violin, it's affordable, transportable. Very easy to use, for musicians playing at a concert, you just have to plug it into a mix table.

Highly recommended
Anonymous 03.02.2017
I wanted to mic up a trumpet in my church and the first place i went to was thomann to avoid full size mic and stand arrangement. Love this mic, sounds great and doesn't cost a fortune. Highly recommended, The cable is also very thin and will need to be looked after - or I may look into splicing it onto a more robust cable. Overall, incredibly good value and more than adequate performance.

Accordion players here's your next purchase
Anonymous 13.02.2016
I got this for the accordion player in my band who for 40years only used a microphone on a stand! I came up with an idea of buying this but with some research found it could work on an accordion with a bit of Velcro at either end to secure it and guarantee there's no mishaps! NEED PHANTHOM POWER!!!
