Active power sub

The pro TP 118/800 A from the box pro is an active subwoofer for use on tour. Fitted with an 18" woofer, it delivers a powerful 750W RMS output and generates a truly impressive sound pressure level (SPL) of up to 129dB. The frequency range of this bass speaker starts at 45Hz and goes up to 200Hz, meaning it can be used with a huge array of different top units, complementing their low frequencies with additional power. The audio signal is fed in via an XLR socket on the rear of the speaker.

Clever connectivity

The connection panel of each the box pro TP 118/800 A offers a volume control, a peak LED, an adjustable hi-cut filter, and phase reversal switch, which are used to optimise the interaction between this sub and its complement of full-range speakers and other subwoofers. Line-in and line-out sockets – plus an XLR output for a signal with a fixed high-pass filter signal preset at 125Hz – are all present and correct as well. In addition to a power twist socket to get the AC power on board, there's a second one that can be used to pass on the 118/800's power supply directly to another active speaker. This greatly reduces the length of cabling required on stage.

At home on stage

Frequent travellers will be pleased to hear that the box pro TP 118/800 A is easy to transport; it weighs only 38kg, which is relatively light for an active subwoofer, and has two carrying handles on each side. If that's not enough, suitable castors can be ordered separately (article 415294). And because it's never a bad idea to look after one's gear properly, matching covers made of water-repellent nylon are also available (articles 265876 and 279781) - these will protect the subwoofer while the screw-fixed front grille ensures that the speaker remains intact when on the move. The top panel features two M20 flange adapters for attaching spacer rods, making it easier to install mid-high cabinets. And to ensure that the speaker's housing doesn't take too many knocks when on the road, it is finished with textured black paint, so that minor impacts and fingerprints won't leave any visible marks.

For smaller clubs and street parties

A single the box pro TP 118/800 A subwoofer can generate a genuinely impressive bass output which, when combined with a stereo set consisting of two top speakers such as a pair of the box pro Achat 110MAs (article 230511), will satisfy audiences of 200 people or more. By adding another one of these powerful subwoofers, a four-piece setup of this kind would be enough for up to 350 listeners. As such, when used as a standalone touring subwoofer with an additional pair of full-range speakers, this bass speaker is suitable for bands performing in clubs and at smaller open-air gigs. With the addition of another subwoofer, bands and DJs can even use the 118/800 A to provide sound for large clubs, street festivals, and events like weddings.

Grundsolides Bassfundament in Top Verarbeitung zum fairen Preis :-)
Mike GT 19.12.2014

Vier solide Griffe, Möglichkeit, Rollen nachzurüsten, sauber abgerundete Kanten, alle nötigen I/Os inkl. Neutrik PowerCon. Vorbildlich!
