For expensive acoustic instruments a must
I have placed one in my music room and keeping the humidity at 50% with a (de)humidifier and one in the case of my prize acoustic guitar attached it with velcro to the accessory box right underneath the neck. Using D'Addario humidipacks

Works as it should
I bought this to check my double bass during the dry swedish winter. And I didn't want to worry about batteries.
It does what it should, and wasn't expensive. I recommend it.

Going analogue
Cool analogue gadget which shows the room temperature and humidity and see if the gear, and not only gear, is stored in a relatively adequate ambient. Functional and easy to read.
