Acoustic Guitar - Unusual use for this wee gem
I'll outline how I use this just in case any other acoustic guitarists are looking for a way to beef up their sound. Works great for me.
If you rig up a sound hole pick up vertically (not the usual horizontal way) the pick up basically only picks up your E and A strings fed into the Sub n Up with the dry and octave up turned off - then mixed with your guitar pick up (I use K&K on my Martin) you can subtly really beef up the acoustic sound with bass. This makes a really big difference to my solo sound.
The Sub n Up tracks extremely well - I also have a POG which tracks the best - however it can sound very - synthetic ... the Sub n Up has a huge bass sound which is more like a double bass sound and dynamically much more lifelike. Be careful you don't over do it if you want a subtle mix.
I've never used the other features as this was bought purely to give my acoustic guitar a better range on the E, A and about 50% of the D string without affecting the treble strings.
Great product for the price and very accurate.

Sub sub
This is really a good add to guitar sound. You can get real close to a good Bass sound for looping - and also get close to a 12-string sound using the Up function. The only minus is that the Bass sound is a little synthetic, but it is what it it is.

A nice tool to have
I bought the sub n up after selling my Pog2.
As I still needed the octave function, I decided on the Mini sub n Up as a fairly cheap alternative after wasting a lot of money on a Pog. The brilliance of this pedal is that it removed the hassle of having too many presets, options and switches (as the Pog2 has) on a pedal.
I liked the Pog2 and it's a great pedal to have, it just gets too overwhelming for someone who just occasionally uses the octave for certain things.
Now about the pedal itself, it has a very wide range of possibilities within such a tiny 3 knob item. The toneprint/editor is a great feature for tweaking whatever sound you want. From simple octaves, classic, polyphonic and organ-like sounds, adding tremolos, lowpass or hipass filters through the editor, you can really get what you can also get from the Pog (without nitpicking quality, it is up to scratch) minus all the hassle. It tracks well, adds a good body to the sound and has personality. All in all a must for such an affordable price.

This thing is a lot of fun
I don’t really know why I bought this, I had no reference or musical inspiration for it. I just thought why the hell not.
Well all I can say is that when I stomp on it, I start noodling weird riffs for what would seem to be hours.
Bottom line, this thing is fun, but it.

Great little pedal
Such a great little pedal. But I don’t sound like Mark Lettieri?

Amazing!
This works great for me. I use a loop pedal and I need to loop bass lines and this works great. But quality is amazing and its small. I just wish there was a volume button. Otherwise, I love it!

Good fat octaver with many possibilities
Played with the pedal quite a bit and very happy with the sound. Mostly use it in full "wet" mode with lower octave turned up and higher octave turned down in poliphonic mode. really happy with the sound.
Pros:
- Solid metal chassis
- Good upper and lower octave sound
- TonePrint capabilities with effects
- Easy to operate
Cons:
- Polyphonic tracking can be "muddy" at times

fair price for great sound
I really need this in my pedal-board, and based on the reviews I bought it.
So far , for me, this little box, gives me three main new options.
1 - Lower octave boost; for fatter riffs or funkier solos.
2 - Higher octave + a little lower octave; for a 12th string emulation.
3 - Both octaves (high + low) mid level, for a organ/keyboard type of sound.
It sounds quite natural to me.
Price is fair for me.

Small size but great piece of gear. Works great on bass even in low tunings.

best stuff you can get for the money
If you`re not using octavers all the time and you need a good reliable one just for that part here and there or a million options just to be creative, you`ll not find a better offer overall.
