Hugely Impressed!
Burchy 28.05.2019
As a user of a TC BG250 210 combo I was expecting a quality product, however, this little amp is better than expected.
I wanted the flexibility of amp head and separate cabs due to playing in many different sized venues.
I used this for the first time at the weekend with a 4 piece band (Drums, 2x Guitar and Bass) and it performed brilliantly.
I ran it with 2x BC208 cabs and they kept up with the live drummer and 2 guitars without being put through the PA system. Tone was good and cut through the mix with clear mids. Bandmates were surprised at the volume and clarity offered by this rig and the small footprint also went down well.
It's really easy to use with the controls being clear, simple and effective. The tone controls enable everything from reggae dub tone to bright slap sounds and everything inbetween.
Be warned though, the manual describes the signal LED as a clip warning. This is not the case. When lit green it simply confirms a signal, when lit red its a clip warning that gain should be reduced.
Overall I would recommend this product to any level of bass player be it as your go to amp or as an effective spare you can keep in your gig bag.

Powerful and Portable

Incredible little (very little!) bass head with great warm tones and plenty of power for home practice and small gigs. Being quiet in operation as there is no fan is a nice bonus, especially at home. Fits in a gig bag pocket with room to spare. I love using it as a headphone amp - no need to have a cabinet connected - just some headphones! A solid unit with smooth controls. Superb value!

It literally does fit in my pocket
Dr Bassman 05.08.2021
I knew the BAM200 is a pocket amp. I could see it was small. I had even noted the dimensions. However, it's not until you take it out of its carton, and hold it in the palm of your hand, that you realise how small this amp is. Seriously, the power cable feels heavier and it looks lost and lonely when placed on its bass cab.

Anyhow, once I had hooked it up to my Albion 3ooW 1×12" + 1×15" 4 ohm cab, ai connected a Squier medium scale, single Humbucker, Jaguar bass to get a feel for what the BAM200 could do.

The gain control is clean and ended up being set at a very reasonable 60%. The bass, mid and treble controls started at 12 O'Clock, but I quickly pulled the bass and mid back to around 10 O'Clock and pushed the treble up to Two O'Clock. It sounds great. The EQ is very responsive and it's a very clean / low noise amp.

My only problem so far is that the master volume hasn't been above 20% (max), and is damned loud at 10%, indoors.

I'm looking forward to taking it out for a test drive, somewhere around the 100W / 50% mark. In the meantime, it looks to me like an excellent bass amp, especially given the price. Oh, did I mention how small it is...?!?!?

Excellent value for money
RayN 18.03.2021
I wanted a compact head for jazz work (I have a ToneMaster Deluxe for everthing else). This mini bass head is one of the best I've played for jazz guitar for many years. Plenty of clean headroom, XLR out is a major plus for home recording and the headphones are great for night work.
Takes pedals well - I have a Fender Tre-Verb in front all the time, and add an MXR 6-band EQ pedal to adjust overall tone for each venue. Out of interest I've tried my other 10 pedals and they all work well - the only challenge was the Keeley Plus compresor which took a while to dial in.
If you want a compact head to carry to a jazz gig this will float your boat - I plug mine into a Toob 6.5" Metro BG and have a great setup with very small size and weight
PS - it also doubles as an excellent amp for my Hofner Violin bass

Great micro amp
Pete London 17.12.2021
I bought this as a practice/small gig/backup amp.

One thing worth noting is how quiet the fan is - at "bedroom volumes" you can barely hear it whirring. I don't know if the fan speeds up when the amp gets warmer - I suspect it does - but as a home practice amp it has been perfect in this respect.

Needless to say at this size and price you are not going to get loads of features but all the basics are there. It's a shame they had to use a 1/4" jack for the speaker output but it's not the end of the world.

I can't comment on whether it is as loud as other 200w amps as I've not yet had a chance to crank it up fully. Likewise I've only had it a few weeks so too early to tell if it will be reliable long-term but I've heard nothing to suggest it won't be.

All in all a great little amp at a good price.

Bam!!
TCfan 10.03.2021
I originally purchased the Warwick Gnome as a pocket sized head to pair with my Phil Jones 27 cab, however I was not happy with the tone and found I had to max the bass EQ to sound full - but that would affect the FOH signal, and it would also cause some distortion as well. And there was a noisy fan to deal with too. So I decided to give the BAM 200 a try. Chalk and cheese! This micro amp form TC Electronic is brilliant! No fan noise. Full sound. Clean sound. And I can run the EQ flat. In fact it's almost impossible to get a bad sound out of the EQ. I promptly sold the Gnome and am holding on to the BAM.

Little big amp
Geeyza 04.03.2021
I ve been using the amp since september 2019.Used it many times in a loud classic rock band (with an active fender jazz and one or two hartke 4x10 XL4.5 cabs),in a jazz trio/quarted or bigger jazz bands with an acoustic doublebass (loaded with spirocore weichs and revolution solo II pickup) mostly using ebs neo112 cab.
I bought this amp as a backup to my other amps acoustic image clarus s4 and markbass ninja(the green one). This little amp covers all my needs playing in small-medium sized rooms. It depends on what cab you use. With my hartke cabs (one or two cabs)it is more than enough, beleive me we are loud. With the double bass gigs,I also take my fishman pro platinum eq/di box just to send a better signal to the PA and have the flexibility to control the eq and the volume in the stage. The only thing I wish it had is a pre post switch at the di out. This little amp is really good, performs excellently, gets warm but not hot.The eq is great for electric bass and double bass.Input is great for piezzo pickups.I recomend this amp to any working bassist who needs a small reliable powerfull bass head.

Amazing Product for this Price
TheGreenDino 20.12.2021
I ended up buying this as I was searching for a good DI box, to be honest and I am very happy the purchase. Of course, I am now using it as a pre-amp and meanwhile added a good speaker to it. :-)

Favorite younger brother
Makkov 06.04.2021
With the tc e BC208 Bass Cab, this amp is very good. But the volume of the sound is at the limit of sufficient (for studio work).
I like this amplifier for its aesthetics, I am very glad that I bought it and I am constantly looking for reasons to use it))
Despite the scarcity of equalization, I will still use it just because it is small, beautiful and produces a very high quality and expensive sound.

Fantastic little amp
BassyG 21.10.2020
I have so far used it for home practice, but I'm planning to use it in a upcoming gig in December. The amp is small, powerful, quiet (no fan noise) and sounds great.

I use it with one TC electronic BC 208 and one Trace Elliot ELF 1 x 10 cabinet, and this combination sounds amazing. The only thing I miss is an aux in connection on the amp.

I also tested the Trace Elliot ELF amp, but found the fan noise incredible annoying, and ended up returning that one to the supplier. The BAM200 sounds at least as good as the ELF amp, the BAM200 has no fan noise and it also is as powerful as the ELF amp. For me the BAM200 is a winner.
