I have been considering learning classical guitar for a while now that I'm retired and have the time. I read reviews of many different models and really appreciated the sound clips on the Thomann website. After creating a shortlist of "budget" models I listened to the clips again, watched online video reviews and finally decided on this Takamine based on the sound quality that has the right amount of depth for a budget classical instrument without the excess treble and flamenco-style sound others were giving. The construction is far better than I expected, although the high gloss does mean it slips a bit when holding to play. The neck design - a slim C shape - makes playing effortless and the width of the neck at the nut is perfect. This is my first Takamine guitar, although I've seen them played often. I will certainly be looking at others in the range as I get more experienced and can definitely recommend this guitar for both beginner and intermediate classical guitar learners. Also, full marks to Thomann, the delivery from Germany was very fast and the packaging was perfect.
