Ultracompact in-ear monitoring

The ultracompact Swiff Audio WX520 Monitor Wireless System was specially developed as lightweight, mobile solution for in-ear monitoring. This simple, effective set consists of nothing more than a receiver, a transmitter – which doubles as the carry case for both the receiver – and a charging cable. Despite this simplicity, the system transmits over the SHF 5.8GHz band, for a strong, stable, and uninterrupted signal. And with latency under 5ms, the audio itself stays crystal clear even at the loudest settings. The transmitter is capable of either mono or stereo output, thanks to its dual XLR (stereo) and 6.3mm (mono) sockets. This base unit is also the set's carry case, with space to store and charge the receiver, which is a compact belt-clip design with a headphone out for the user's in-ears. It also has an integrated display for managing the signal itself. The Swiff WX520 is a compact and easy-to-handle in-ear system with the flexibility to be used in countless different ways.

Incredibly easy to use

The receiver on the Swiff WX520 is fitted with a generously sized rotary dial for setting the volume; it's large enough for the integrated display, which shows the signal status, volume level, battery charge, and whether it’s muted. To switch it on or off, the volume dial simply needs to be held down for two seconds. For charging, the receiver docks into the transmitter, which is integrated into the carry case. The transmitter itself has a smaller volume knob that controls the signal going through the 6.3mm jack socket. Above that are switches for toggling between line and mic level, and between stereo and mono. The connectors on the right-hand side give a flexible range of options, though only one can be used at a time. On the front, there's the button for powering the transmitter on and off.

Looking for freedom

This compact wireless system is aimed at musicians and sound engineers looking for more freedom to move on stage – and with a range of up to 50m, there's plenty of freedom. It can be used for band rehearsals, conferences, or sending audio to a camera when recording video content: At a stroke, long cable runs are a thing of the past. The system can be expanded with up to four extra receivers, each picking up the same signal. That way, several people can share one setup – for a tidy signal flow. Thanks to USB charging, there's no need for batteries to keep it powered.

Safe and secure signal

For a solid signal, musicians will need a clear, direct line of sight between the transmitter and receiver, with as few large obstacles as possible in the way. Both units should also be at least 1.5 metres away from larger metal objects like walls or scaffolding: Because of the built-in lithium batteries, they shouldn't be placed near heat sources either. If the system isn't going to be used for a while, users should make sure not to keep the charging case plugged in for too long. Depending on which mode the band or sound techs run the system on, the Swiff Audio WX520 can transmit for up to eight hours on a full charge. And with a signal-to-noise ratio of over 90dB and a distortion level of under 0.05%, it delivers high-quality audio, which is of course the most important thing of all.
