A
weak signal, possibly favours louder environment
Anonymous 03.04.2017
The price for the Superlux E524/D is low.
Compared to my other condenser stereo mics, this has a considerably weaker signal. Not a problem if you can site the mic close.
Comes with plastic box and battery but it maybe better to spend more money on a higher quality stereo microphone. This is a cheap option and the build quality reflects this.

LD
Mediocre at best
Lior Delman 01.03.2023
I bought this mic to have a room image for live multitrack recordings, but I was disappointed when I heard it in action. The mic is very gain hungry even though it runs on 48v and sounds weak at the high frequencies range.
However, it has a lot of dynamic range even when you boost gain.
I will probably will use it for other applications.

Very useful

Quick setup and clever design. Well constructed. I had an issue for a short while with one side crackling but unscrewing and attaching the head fixed it.

Well made, noise floor a bit higher than hoped.
Jonnyjazz 20.08.2026
It's well made and the sound is decent, but there's more self noise than I had hoped - so I only use it for loud things. (It has more self noise than my stereo [blumlein] ribbon)
