Too fat for my jack connectors but great cable
First attempt at making my own jack leads with this cable and I am happy with the results. The cable is extremely durable and well protected. The copper braiding is high quality and plentiful.
However the match with Neutrik NP2X-B connectors is not made in heaven. I should have read up about this beforehand but didn't. The cable is too thick to comfortably close the connectors tight. But not impossible. I ended up slicing some thickness off the cable to allow the connector to seat flush with itself. Even then it was pretty difficult to force the threads to close.
Still now it's done I'm extremely satisfied with the cable, it carries sound same as the pros and seems undefeatable.

The Best Of The Best
The thing about instrument cable is capacitance.
Most instrument cable is made Oxygen Free Copper (OFC) these days, which helps ensure little is lost in conductance, but capacitance can roll of the treble your amp gets from your instrument.
Capacitance in cable is per metre, so the longer the cable run, the more capacitance, and the more treble gets rolled off. This cable has the lowest capacitance of all by quite a margin, at 52pF per metre.
It's not unusual for other instrument cable to have twice or even three times that figure, so it's easy to see this cable is a clear winner.
In practice, it's clear and musical, open and airy, and whether using short or long cable runs, sounds the same. It really is the best of the best, and is extremely hard to source.
The fact that Thomann sell it by the metre at an excellent price is great news, and represents a serious bargain.

The best cable in the world!
I recently purchased the Sommer Cable The Spirit LLX and I have to say, I am thoroughly impressed with its performance. The cable is made from high-quality copper and has very low capacitance, resulting in a very clean and clear signal

SOMMER is a giant!
The first time I tried a Sommer cable, I was blown away by its durability and quality of construction. Also its clarity was so obvious.
I often do gigs and surely my cables are being exposed in anything but gentle treat.
It was a matter of time before purchasing it by the metre, so I could build my own cables. Excellent cable, with the capacity demanded.
Really recommended over cables that are overpriced without any good reason. +5 stars!!

Another sound...
The LLX is a great cable, works -really- fine with the high impedance input of my tube amps and deliver a crisp and airy sound i like veeeery much.
Being quite difficult to plug some RCA Amphenols on it, the assembly requires a little more attention but the result is satisfatory.

Need cable for your studio? Your search is over.
Sommer Spirit LLX might be the only cable for all studio needs. Advertised as Instrument cable, it serves me also as audio gear interconnect. I've made custom RCA cables with Spirit LLX & Amphenol RCA connectors. Those cables can easily rival if not surpass many much highly priced ready-made cables. You know, snake oil in audio world is served with no retention. BTW, talking about snakes, if you want a very versatile “cable” solution, I have a secret for you. SC Spirit LLX
I like this sommer The Spirit LLX. Compared to DGS-1, the sommer has better definition in lows, and i love that, because with the other cable the low notes strings always were blurry and a bit out of control. With LLX is perfect, clear and no low notes peaks. Compared with SC Classique, the Spirit LLX is cleaner (breaks up into harmonic saturation later), and has softer highs, the Classique cable has a high mid presence for great rockanroll. Anyway, both cables has very good low end definition... you know, no blurry low end, no lost control on bassy notes.

Price performance champ
Well you get a lot with this cable. Up to some 4-5 meters length it's lower capacity will make very good guitar cable. 6 meters gives some warmth and you start losing some signal but still way less then with normal cables. 6 meters length is warmer then high end cables costing 5 to 10x more. This is all in unbuffered scenario so passive pickups on the guitar straight into the amp. 3-4 meters there is almost no difference with very good cables regarding to signal. That is regarding to a high tone roll off. High end cables will sound bit better regarding to definition and will better mechanically. Those will be often softer and nicer to work with. Still considering what you get for the money there is no better cable for the money.

Very high quality cable
Tested this against Van Damme classic instrument cable and Sommer Tricone and with passive guitars you definitely notice the difference in HF response. This cable is thick, but is still coilable and has a nice feel to it. Wouldn't bother for most cables, but to have one really high quality guitar cable is good!

Excellent sounding cables even at 7 meters
These cables sound very good; very transparent and they don't degrade the guitar signal or make it thin and nasal. Even with long cable lengths. Although every cable will do this at some length, I find these cables to be very neutral. They are quite flexible and when unrolled properly they stay flat on the floor.
