Just right!
This simple extension is very handy for many situations - attach to a clamp and you can mount a mic under a cymbal or hi-hit, or on a lectern. Use them with an adapter on the end of a long boom for hanging your mics vertically. Many times I've found a use to extend a mic clip or mount and I like this piece to do it with. Personally I much prefer the 5/8" thread and being US-made it uses this size, but you can use adapters if needed. It's strong yet light as it has good material of the right thickness, and very affordable. I keep finding more uses for this little bar that doesn't look like much yet is so versatile. Twice now I have ended up adding another one to my next order! No problems with quality, cut of the thread, the paint or any other detail I can find.

Adds a little extra reach when needed.
Pairing with a Shure SM7B and a Blue Compass, this little extender is exactly what I needed to get the mic positioned correctly when reaching around an ultrawide monitor. Well made, very solid and clearly built to last.

Essential for getting the most out of SM7b on a boom arm
Kills me to pay Β£9 + Β£8 shipping for a hollow metal tube but unfortunately there's no alternative. That being said, i'm glad that I ordered the A26X. I ordered it to address the poor range of motion you get when using the SM7b with a Rode PSA-1 desk arm, and it does just that. It also has the added benefit of allowing you to position the arm further out of your field of view.

Works perfectly.
Literally, screw it in; and that's it.
Holds the SM7b and that little XLR cable blockage issue is gone.
