A medium output Humbucker for strats which I've installed in Series mode for the coils and split coils via a Super switch (4 pole 5 way). This pickup is for the Bridge position. Chunky Rhythm sound cuts through in the mix and for high gain soloing the way this pickup sounds so smooth and biting without any of the all too common harshness is nothing short of amazing. I find that as this is not the highest output Humbucker that it's a little hard to drive the Distortion channel of my Bugera 333XL and Ashdown FA60 Tube head. Using a Stompbox (using a RAT or MXR Distortion +) overcomes this and allows for a really fluid clear lead tone. Super pickup with no 50Hz Hum.

I love this pickup so much!
Guy Declerck 29.04.2021
I had this pickup on every strat I own! I just love it so much.
It doesn't sound like a 'junior' version to me at all, when using it with high-gain tones it really feels like a great humbucker. But when using it for more clean-tones it has a single-coil vibe to it as well, which I love. The more gain you use, the more it starts to stand out to me!
So overall, sounds fantastic with clean tones, sounds amazing with high-gain!

Good sound - but can get muddy - so check you guitar pedal rig and amp

Good sound - but can get muddy - so check you guitar pedal rig and amp to be sure this is going to give you the results you're expecting. Pickups are always about taste - so be sure to pick ones that suit the music. I love these but I have since moved on to other things.

C
awesome sound for a not-so-fat Strat
Christian9551 16.03.2013
a humbucker in a Strat is a question of religion - as soon as you're ready to accept that you can use more than simply 3 singlecoils you're hooked.
aesthetically you don't have the look of a fat strat with a "real" humbucker at the bridge, but you still have a very interesting distorted sound.
and the sound IS awesome!

Seymour Duncan SJBJ-1B White Pick up
Ron C. 25.11.2013
I fitted this pickup to my Mexican Strat, I wanted a more humbucker fuller sound, but retaining some top end which is exactly what I got. It was easy to fit requiring no need to file out the pick guard etc, the wiring and fitting instructions supplied were easy to follow. In my opinion a good pickup.

After 20 years of playing strat I still didnt find the right bridge humbucking pickup for my guitar. This is the closest for my needs, but I still have double thougts to put back the original single coil.

Nice pickup

Love the crunchy sound on distorted channels - has the power of a double coil pickup. Clean sound is not my favourite though. But it suits the purpose I bought it for!
