Der Preis mag recht hoch erscheinen. Letztlich kommt er aber doch nur auf etwa 12% des Preises für das "dazugehörige" Mikrofon. Und gerade bei Aussenaufnahmen kommt nicht einmal das beste Schoeps ohne Schutz mit Windstößen zurecht.

Die Fellkugeln brauchen viel weniger Platz als die rohrförmigen Windscreen Kits (die übrigens noch teurer sind). Zudem kann man z.B. AB oder ORTF-ähnliche Stereopaare viel flexibler aufstellen, als bei einer Montage in einem Stereo-Windscreen.

Mir haben W 20 RIs bei Stereo-Aufnahmen mit Colette-Nieren und Kugeln gute Dienste geleistet. Solange der Wind nicht schon fast zum Sturm wird, genügen diese Windschütze völlig.
