Quickly set-up wireless system
The RØDE Wireless Micro Camera Kit is a wireless microphone system for recording with DSLR cameras and smartphones via USB-C that is aimed at ambitious beginners and users looking for a reliable solution that combines quality and value. The self-contained system automatically pairs the two microphone transmitters with one of the two receivers when switched on, allowing recording to begin quickly without requiring a complicated setup. Although it does not include internal recording or inputs for external microphones, it delivers impressive sound quality and long battery life, with the included charger case allowing the units to be conveniently topped up between sessions.
A clean sound with two transmitters
This compact yet capable wireless system is the successor to the RØDE Wireless Micro, which was originally developed specifically for smartphone use. Included as part of the Camera Kit, it enables wireless transmission of speech and audio from up to two compact lavalier transmitters directly to a camera or smartphone, while the omnidirectional condenser capsules and automatic GainAssist technology help maintain consistent sound quality throughout recordings. According to the manufacturer’s specifications, the system offers a range of up to 100 metres with a clear line of sight. Setup is quick and straightforward as well: Affix the transmitters to clothing using the clip or magnetic attachment, connect the receiver to the camera or smartphone, allow automatic pairing to complete, and adjust the volume if required when using the camera receiver.
Focus on speech
The RØDE Wireless Micro Camera Kit is designed for smaller productions, vloggers, and discerning users who value a straightforward system with minimal setup and a reduced risk of unusable recordings. Developed as a dedicated lavalier microphone solution, it is not intended for connecting external microphones. Within this category, however, it delivers impressive performance, with built-in microphone capsules shared with RØDE’s higher-end products and a frequency response of 50Hz to 15kHz that captures the human voice with clarity and detail. The transmitters also provide enough battery life for extended recording sessions, offering up to seven hours of operation. If one unit runs out of power during a single-source recording, the second microphone can be used as a practical alternative.
About Røde
Founded in Sydney, Australia in 1990, Røde has built a reputation as a specialist for high-quality studio microphones. The company's first product, the large-diaphragm NT1, was made entirely in-house in Australia: It quickly became a classic, and a variety of NT1 models remain in production to this day. Over the years, Rode has steadily expanded its portfolio to include a comprehensive selection of studio, live, and wireless microphones, with regular updates and additions to the lineup. More recently, the company has broadened its offering with a wide range of solutions for video, broadcasting, streaming, and content creation, establishing itself as a versatile provider of modern audio technology.
Versatile wireless mic for on the go
The RØDE Wireless Micro Camera Kit is a high-quality, ready-to-use audio solution for a wide range of recording situations. Whether used for mobile vlogging, interviews, or with a smartphone, DSLR, or mirrorless camera, it provides a reliable wireless connection between the audio source and receiver. The compact transmitters can be attached discreetly to a variety of clothing thanks to the integrated clip or magnetic attachment. With a range of up to 100 metres, the system allows presentations and interviews to be recorded from a comfortable distance while maintaining a stable connection. Its compatibility with laptops and tablets also makes it suitable for online meetings, lectures, and live-streamed presentations, while the lightweight receiver is well suited to use with a gimbal.
In the spotlight
AMOLED-Display
A key feature of the system is the built-in 1.1" AMOLED display on the camera receiver, which provides a clear overview of important information such as audio levels, battery status, and connection status, while also allowing settings to be adjusted quickly. GainAssist technology further simplifies operation by automatically managing levels for consistent, distortion-free recordings. The system also introduces Direct Connect, enabling a direct Bluetooth connection to iOS devices without the need for an external receiver. The free RØDE Capture app for iOS and Android provides control over audio and video settings, allowing the Wireless Micro to be integrated easily into a mobile recording workflow.
