Learning Curve
Kriztof 09.04.2020
This guitar has a learning curve, if you’ve never played a Ric, it will take time to get used to the narrow neck and the close spacing of the strings. It took me a few months of playing, putting it back, trying again.. but now I’m used to it & hooked on the unique sound.
They have extremely high output pickups and can cause distortion early, on some amps. Works well with most pedals. It’s light weight, looks fab and has history.
My model needed some tweaking out of the box, the bridge saddles were poorly cut and the strings were catching. I eventually replaced it with a mastery bridge. The neck is very susceptible to temperature change at first but after adjusting the dual truss rods a couple of times, it seems to have settled down. The maple glow color is very bright and new looking but I was surprised that it is turning a nice aged yellow tone after leaving it out of its case for a few months.. strange for none cellulose lacquer, but good. Apart from the tiny bridge saddle hiccup I rated this guitar high because it’s a great instrument, you will bond with it.
